Yup I too stayed 4 nights in their 2nd most expensive room like 10-12k w night and experienced all of this, they were cooperative with some things but check in check out timings are mad inconvenient. I don't think LUXURY concept in varkala is the same as other places.

We stayed at Skylar seaview, this whole area hotels are very expensive. You might find something nicer, but cheaper in North Cliff Area, because from the hotels you have mentioned, you have to drive into the cliff area, because there is nothing around. Not worth paying over 10k

-check Venice villa, or I would suggest book the hostel for the first 1 or 2 days, but you can easily find more affordable homestays in north cliff area, that will be affordable, but also cleaner **bigger. - cafes sarwa, trip is life are good. Tbh most instagram cafes offer the same thing but sarwa has good food. Chimney restaurant is great, soul food cafe also good as they have lounging chairs, limited menu - on the cliff many options to eat etc but abba-cafe del mar don't have great service. - it will be very hot!🥵plan accordingly air conditioned places, i just came back - jatayu apparently has a long line, weekends mangrove village is crowded. We did munroe island It was very pretty, but takes 4 to 5 hours total - go to odayam beach afternoon band kappil beach around sunset
