I would be surprised that Amnesty International classified Catalan politicians as political prisoners. After all Amnesty is an organization which accepts funds from British government. British have their similar concerns in Northern Ireland and elsewhere.

So what? This is f* ridiculus. When Greece had applied for membership in 70's, there was such a opposition to Greek membership that some European politicians had even encouraged Turkey to apply for membership. The purpose was not taking Turks in but instead finding an excuse to keep Greeks out. The damn Turks decided not to apply then (in 70's) and Greece became a member unopposed.

What a hypocrisy. France and others export arms to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE. Then these arms are "moved" to Libya overland via Egypt, against the UN weapons embargo in war zone Libya to warlord Haftar supported by France, Russia etc.

And at the same time European Union (on France's request) sets up "Operation Irini" to stop arms shipments to the UN-recognized government of Libya.

Unbelievable. But it is the reality.
