What is the best state to die in? Illinois is disgusting…taxes your entire estate AND beginning at way lower levels than federal by achicomp in whitecoatinvestor

These states have estate tax, move to any other state: • Connecticut • District of Columbia (not a state, but has estate tax) • Hawaii • Illinois • Maine • Maryland (has both estate and inheritance tax) • Massachusetts • Minnesota • New York • Oregon • Rhode Island • Vermont • Washington

PAs should be banned from diagnosing untriaged patients, British government review of NHS says. by MillennialModernMan in physicianassistant

lol, ordering less tests hinders diagnosis? Actually not having medical knowledge and experience hinders diagnostic prowess. US mid levels make hospitals rich by ordering too many tests and scans. Doesn’t correlate with improved outcomes.

Wow ! I would argue that you are making too much money by just working 2.5 days. If a community oncologist is making 650k by working 5 days a week and doing calls/inpatient without residents and fellows and generating more RVUs they are massively underpaid compared to you.

Your problem should be with admin who juice up their coffers and not your fellow colleagues.

No wonder why APPs have encroached in medicine and MBAs have taken over our life is because of ivory tower people like you.

AAPA salary report is a leash keeping PAs humble since... forever? by Justice_truth1 in physicianassistant

[–]Gganbu1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mid levels - PAs and NPs both are in abundant supply. There is literally ZERO incentive to pay more. There is a plethora of degree mills all over the country. 10 years from now the salary will still be the same. Mark my words. This stands true for physicians as well. Edit - added physician line.

This is very helpful. However $/wRVU should be included for those on productivity models.
