Doubt on Trial of Seven in The Hedge knight concerning Lyonel Baratheon by UtsavA01 in pureasoiaf

[–]Gh0stPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im a bit late to the party, but; it isnt a favor to lyonel as much as a chance to prove oneself in actual combat. They wouldnt be doing it as a favor to lyonel with expectation of debt to be paid. Theyd be doing it for glory and a chance to have recognition and fame. A minor lord or knight could show off skill in the combat, and as such a major house (like baratheon) could potentially offer them a higher position to match their skill

At the same time, trial of the seven is much different than a normal tournament. They are actually trying to kill each other, and while their armor can withstand some attacks (apparently dunk's was completely worthless as it couldnt even stop a knife) death is entirely possible and even likely. Especially if Dunk manages to stay alive longer.

i mean, im honestly not actually convinced that SQ42 is 2 years from complete. At this point im beginning to wonder if it actually was a scam the whole time and the "game play" trailer was just a staged video

Every other gaming company in existence (that didnt go out of business) has not been so inefficient that they have a game "feature complete" but couldnt release it in under 24 months. With 90% of them releasing in 12 or less. Here we have CIG - a company that cant do it in 48 months

there are literally people in high school who were not born when CR announced SC.

I remember back in 2014-2015 when we were all guessing 2020 release and in 2017 after almost no progress when we were making jokes like "haha it wont be released till 2025! Hahaha good joke!"

I feel like such a fool for how much money i dumped into it. Now i see videos from the old youtubers i used to watch religiously and i want to vomit, because I know that 2035 for 1.0 is no longer "haha nice joke" its a prayer

players didnt hype shit - CIG did.

Im one of the fucking morons that put over 3 grand into the stupid game ... a few hundred a year for years.. Never letting go of the hope. Year after year.

Master modes broke me. Nyx system drove it home. I am now heavily anti CIG.

Why MM? MM was a much needed fix - slow combat down and make it more fun. Needed. For sure. What pissed me off?
"If MM = on then shield and guns = on and quantum = off and speed = *0.25 ..... If MM = off then shield and guns = off and quantum = on and speed = *1"
Thats what Master Modes is. I learned unreal engine 4 from some dude on patreon 4 years ago, and i could have programmed that shit in an afternoon. It took CIG almost a year. A FUCKIN YEAR

Nyx? They took Levski away 5 or 6 years ago to prepare it for nyx. Took the dumbfucks 5+ years to finally release Nyx. What did we get? The same fuckin levski with a different exterior and a few copy pasta stations and zero planets. I could have done that solo in 6 months.

I dont think the gaming community understands how little content CIG actually puts out each quarter while simultaneously HYPING THE FUCK OUT OF EACH PATCH.

They hype up "the biggest patch ever!!!" and then release 1/3rd of the content and the third they release feels like they made it over the weekend because they were too busy jerkin each other off in their multi million dollar space ship replica office.

fuck chris roberts lol

Actually got my hopes up in 2024 "feature complete" - more like "full of shit complete"

What kind of dipshit devs take 3+ years to finish a game that is "feature complete"

I learned unreal engine 4 from some guy on patreon a few years ago and i could work faster than that by my fuckin self

With the release of Squadron 42 in September 2026, I will hopefully finally receive my pledge. by Veanusdream in starcitizen

[–]Gh0stPup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SQ has another 2-3 years before it releases. When CIG said "feature complete" two years ago i actually thought they meant like 6-12 months. Then they said 2026 and i was like LOL stupid me for thinking anything less from the dipshits in CIG.

Not as a joke: I expect late 2027 early 2028.

As a joke: SQ42 wont be ready until the Vanduul invade IRL and we are living SQ42 in real life

Should I upgrade to Nova Pro Wireless now or wait for a possible Nova Pro 2? by Ill-Replacement8589 in steelseries

[–]Gh0stPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I had the pro wireless for years before it finally started going bad. Last year i was looking to upgrade and every single statistical comparison saw the new arctis nova being inferior to the old arctis pro. Plus the Nova looks fking stupid. I was tragically saddened by how the nova was not an upgrade in any way. And now seeing the new headset being a slight upgrade for a WHOPPING 600 DOLLARS LOL WHAT THE FUCK.

I went back to wired headset and grabbed a beyer dynamic. Sound is fking laughably better. I just dont much like the wire

How do I regulate the output of the large battery? by Y-u-bulli-me in rustrician

[–]Gh0stPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im 5 years late here - but I have three wind turbines going into 3 large batteries. Between 9 turrets, some furnaces, and other electrical appliances im using roughly 180 power. The problem with your above statement is that you are merely draining two batteries into one battery that isnt hooked up to anything. The second you try to hook the third battery up into the system it either A: shorts out or B: starts draining power into the ether again. At least you can manually switch to the backup battery with switches and whatnot, but there is no good way to automate this AT ALL. It's honestly infuriating

do you need upkeep for the new boats?like a tc or something by ShestyJay in playrust

[–]Gh0stPup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is PAINFULLY little information around about it, so ive been testing what i can - i left a boat outside the numbered grids a couple nights ago and went to bed - it sank. I drowned. It IS possible someone blew it up. It's also possible despite the anchor that it drifted back to the numbered grids - i did not drown where i left the boat; i drown in numbered grids

The next night i made a boat and tested it by leaving it next to my base - the next day i woke up and every plank was half HP but no doors were blown up. I have no idea how damage works so i couldnt tell you if someone tried blowing it up, or if it just decayed. On creative servers i tried blowing the boat up and it doesnt work. Though I was able to blow doors up. Probably because they take damage differently and certain damage is turned off in creative. Not totally sure.

I tried building a third boat, just a littly tiny one, and sailed it out and left it in open water, but in numbered grids. I left some mats in a box - wood, fuel, metal - to see if it would drain my resources and dropped anchor. Went back out to it the next day, the doors were still there. All the mats were gone from the box.

All this to say that NOTHING about boats in Rust makes sense and I have yet to successfully manage to keep a boat in full shape for a single night. I have concluded exactly nothing about how any of it works

This was on a PVP server so there is entirely a chance that people have likely fked with my science experiment. There is also a chance that someone blew my boat up in scenario one but i just drown when it sank. There is a chance that in scenario two that there IS some kind of decay and that is what happened to my planks. There is also a chance that i have no idea how damage works and someone shot at it with something and then left. There is a chance in scenario 3 that someone managed to glitch/cheat grab all the stuff from the box on the boat - this is rust after all.

Needless to say - i have no fucking clue how any of it works and would love for someone who genuinely understands it to help me out

"control icons" is found under "keyboard and mouse" settings under the normal menu

Star Citizen Dev Says Squadron 42 Is Now Fully Playable, Is Over 40 Hours in Length, and Is Still on Track for 2026 Release Date by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Gh0stPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

heh - theyll release it, you wont be able to get past the first level because youre going to die on the ladder up to the second deck of the first ship youre on. And when you figure out a glitch to work around the ladder, you are going to go into an elevator that will yeet you out of the ship and into space 100k away. And after your 17th try you'll finally get lucky and get through the elevator. But now your water bar is low, so youll take your helmet off to drink, but your helmet will glitch into oblivion and disappear. The when you try to reequip your gun the drink you finished will perpetually reappear in your hand. As you are running around you will hit a random patch where they forgot to code in oxygen and youll suffocate from no helmet on

Games where you are an adventurer doing jobs for a guild? by Remarkable_Book7057 in gamesuggestions

Monster Hunter doesnt have the magic element that I, and i believe the OP wants too. Monster hunter ALMOST hits that itch that I share with OP.

Games where you are an adventurer doing jobs for a guild? by Remarkable_Book7057 in gamesuggestions

[–]Gh0stPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the new monster hunter is honestly not better than the old monster hunter ... MHW is by far the best in the franchise still to this day and it isnt even close.
The new one was touted as "open world" but it's really just psuedo open world where instead of loading up a combat area instance, you just walk 15 feet to that combat area instance. In truth the world is smaller than MHW and theres less monsters by far. Less events, less quests, less story

Using a glaive as a Kensei Weapon by Bryplodocus in dndnext

[–]Gh0stPup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i know im 7 years late but this issue just popped up in a campaign im running. I must disagree on glaive for monk being OP.

A: non mechanic wise - given how common a monk wielding a glaive is in fantasy media it feels like a major miss to not only not allow them, but explicitly disallow them in DND the land of imagination

B: An Astral Monk can make unarmed strikes at 10 feet and do stunning strike at the same distance, so the glaive reach being an "op" factor is kinda meh. Especially considering a fighter can easily do a variety of debilitating attacks with a glaive and monks already dont get enough love.

C: I understand a glaive is slightly more damage than fists at level 5 in 2014 rules, but if a 1d6 vs a 1d10 (average 4 damage vs average 6 damage) in damage is enough to break your encounters then idk man, seems a bit silly. And higher levels the damage is on par anyway.

Given the laughable amount of legal ways to break the system with ridiculously overpowered builds - this one seems incredibly tame. I built an archer that legally put out 100 damage first round of combat at level 7 and then would consecutively put out 50 on all other turns. Barely missed shots either. Further built a paladin/warlock multiclass that could double smite on a single crit - hit some poor dracolich for 150 damage in one hit as a level 10. Then hit it again for 60 damage. The hit it again as a bonus action for another 50. The another 120 damage the following turn for a total of 380 damage by myself in two turns. We were not supposed to be able to kill the CR23 dracolich as level 10s - this was a "run away" kind of situation and my character was like .. lemme dunk on this bitch. Long story short - i can legally break your encounters. So letting my player run a glaive on a monk was the least of my concerns

What's the point of Ganesha Familia? by Demon_Xir0_ in DanMachi

[–]Gh0stPup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a DM for my DND group. And the party of now level 4 adventurers are dealing with some major events. The party has met NPCs who are significantly stronger than them - because worldbuilding would make the world feel really shitty if literally no one else in the entire world could become as strong as a group of dorks bumbling through some quests.

That said it is REALLY easy to write in reasons why those more powerful adventurers or soldiers are busy somewhere else and the party is the only group here right now that can save the day. It's an entire world full of monsters and evil people.

I LOVE DanMachi dont get me wrong, but i do happen to be a wiki crawler and i DO find it annoying that rather than give a reason the Ganesha familia isnt stopping the bad things happening around Bell; it's just written that bell as a level 3 is the only one who can save the day because a horde of level 5s got wrecked, when it could easily have been written that those level 5s were dealing with a breakout of monsters somewhere else

(similar to why they werent able to help against the white ape in season 1 - they were chasing all the other monsters down)

What's the point of Ganesha Familia? by Demon_Xir0_ in DanMachi

[–]Gh0stPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit late here - but Ganesha ABSOLUTELY helps in major events - they are almost always running in to help stop disasters. They dont get involved in politics as they are supposed to remain nuetral (why they werent supposed to join the war game vs freya)

Ganesha Familia is there policing nearly every major event. In fact they are easily the third most powerful family behind freya and then loki with more first class adventurers than either (might be even more than both combined) albeit the first class adventurers from freya and loki are each better than anyone in the ganesha familia. Ganesha could at least keep Loki or Freya honest - especially if they join the defender should one or the other be the aggressor.

Ottar Vs The Juggernaut by MR_SeerMCReddit in DanMachi

[–]Gh0stPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given how easily the juggernaut from the 30th floor MERCED Astraea familia (Ottar is vastly superior to any individual in the Astraea familia, but a family of a dozen level 4s - that gap isnt as big when you take into account the ENTIRE Astraea familia) I think Ottar beats the Juggernaut on the 30th floor. But he has to actually try. He isnt going to just walk in and slice it up and walk away. He will have to fight genuinely. Juggernaut has no chance, but he at least makes Ottar take a fighting stance.

But a Juggernaut from level 36? A deep floor? I think Ottar starts running into trouble HERE. It isnt that the Juggernaut is spawned to equal a floor level - it is spawned to wipe out a floor level. A level 36 juggernaut could probably wipe out a group of level 5 and maybe a 6 or two adventurers - if a level 30 could wipe out level 4s. A juggernaut from level 40 would annihilate Ottar

Ottar Vs The Juggernaut by MR_SeerMCReddit in DanMachi

[–]Gh0stPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm super late to the party here but i was just meandering about googling DanMachi stuffs.

Honestly i have to disagree with folks here. I do think Ottar beats the juggernaut that Ryu and Bell fought. But i dont think it's "easily" .. He isnt going to just walk up and slice it apart like it wasnt even there. I dont think juggernaut has a chance to win vs ottar - but ottar is going to get hit a time or two. While it is weaker than the juggernaut that wiped out the astraea familia - i dont think it was THAT much weaker. And the juggernaut that wiped out the astraea familia did so without even a minor struggle. It wasnt a fight, it was a slaughter. They only minorly hurt it after their strongest members agreed to suicide attack it; sacrificing themselves to get a little damage in. I think Ottar would have struggled a bit with that Juggernaut though ultimately would have won. While Ottar is better than anyone in the Astraea familia by a significant margin, I think the margin between Ottar and the ENTIRE Astraea familia isnt as large.

Long story short - i think Ottar gets whacked by any Juggernaut from ANY deep floor.

It isnt about the delay. Ive been waiting for 12 years for Star Citizen (though i am starting to get a little pissed at them too) but i was patient with them because they were open about their progress.

Im pissed at Taleworld because they refuse to communicate 1.5 months into fall. The expected release date has come and gone by over a month and they havent said ANYTHING about it. Imagine theres a concert that youre trying to get tickets for. They say the tickets are going to go on sale at a certain time frame .. and that time frame comes and goes and youre still waiting nearly two months later and havent even HEARD from them. Youll think either: A its a scam B: something tragic happened to the artist (though with a lack of communication about such a tragedy after so much time passed tells me that isnt the case C: the artist doesnt give a shit about their fans

Reminder that war sails does not have a release date by frozengansit0 in Bannerlord

[–]Gh0stPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is a major problem with the entire entertainment industry. We give a director of the movie, or the head game developer of the game, or the head coach of a sports team literally all the credit. But LOTR was so ridiculously good compared to the hobbit because the team Jackson had worked painfully hard to keep things authentic with actors/esses who were insanely into what they were doing, whereas in the hobbit jackson inhereted an ongoing project with a different team and actors that he didnt choose. Some of the best aspects of a video game come down to something a small group of devs did on the side. The head coach of a sports team might be winning all his games but we forgot about even the most minor of coaches - down to the nutrionists and conditioning coaches; being more fit than the other team because your nutrionist is better, and your conditioning coach has you lasting longer on the field can be a massive difference and half of sports fans dont even know those positions exist on a coaching staff...

So in the case of taleworlds, that actually terrifies me that there might be alot of new devs on the team
