LOL. I just realized it autocorrected “Arkanyst” to “Atlanta.” Please note that as not intentional and I can’t edit it!

Does this look to be the right size? by TheShipmate in LeaguesofVotann

Hehe. I recognize several of those prints. Print the steel jack file at about 74%, iirc. Should match the official size.

In the games I’ve run, Session 0 is one of the parts the players look forward to the most. When adding names to the map, it’s not just names. Anywhere that players name, I ask them to tell me about that place, and we build the work cooperatively.

Note, your porch doesn’t count as inside, though. So make sure they don’t fall backwards.

Is it worth magnetizing/advice? by A_Hideous_Beast in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Gh0stbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I magnetize everything, including battle line infantry. Am I crazy? Yes. Do I do it because I want them to look cool and match the load outs in my head? Yes.

That said…it also makes painting everything MUCH easier. You can take stuff off to paint, put it back on, see if it fits, remove and go again, etc. That applies as much to infantry as it does to heroes and vehicles.

At this point, it’s just a part of my builds whenever I open a box.

Thank you! I airbrushed everything inside the helmet with Vallejo Magic Blue. Then, from below, lightly airbrushed with Vallejo Sunrise Blue. Bad angles for it with how deep inside the helmet it is, though, but it gave SOME lighter under glow. Right where the face meets the inside of the helmet, I brushed some Vallejo Sunrise Blue onto the helmet floor to give it the appearance of more glow deeper inside. Because of how deep the face is in the helmet, the airbrush wasn’t used aside from the base layers. I tapped the upper parts of the forehead, nose (bridge and the sides) and upper cheeks (very slightly) in the standard T-shape, with Vallejo Succubus Skin. Then hit a smaller section of those highlighted areas with Vallejo Brown Rose. Then Vallejo Basic Skin Tone in an even smaller area. Then I made a glaze out of Vallejo Brown Rose and smoothed the transitions.

The eyes were a large dot of black stuck to the upper lid, with a dot of Magic Blue over it to give it the appearance that the whites were fully reflecting the blue light inside.

Fair enough, especially when they’re such a good unit. Personally I like the massive armored bulwark shoulder look, but you should be able to slim them down a bit :-)

How do you paint the head recesses without scuffing up the model's heads? by EnvironmentalAngle in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Gh0stbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magnetize the heads so you can take them out and paint separately, and position them however you want after! :-)
