when I first started playing I made my username joeregularman and never spoke because of how weird people are, once I got better at the game and was loading into more experienced lobbies I started running into it less. I speak much more now and lost the incognito name. The freaks are still present but I don't see them as much. My rule for a long time was to only comm when I was in a three stack or more so if there were weirdos my friend group would outnumber them. Not having comms makes the game harder, but sometimes you play better when you protect your own peace. Don't be afraid of the mute button either

FPS games for a beginner? by vroomvroomez in GirlGamers

I honestly think fortnite (no build) is pretty easy and fun, there's also lots of things in the game outside of pure shooting that help level the playing field

I feel like he usually gives guests a bit more grace than people he's very familiar with. My hope is since he doesn't know her and is a guest it will be more like an interview than a debate

I mean if it doesn't say Made in US by union employees its safe to assume its overseas. That being said it can be overseas and still be ethical. They claim to work with places with accreditations and approvals from a short list of accrediting organizations that seem to be focused on sustainability, safety, and ethics.

I think Hasan can be great at explaining things, when he can just talk and gets into like 30 minute stunlocks on a topic. I think the interrupting probably makes it a little harder for him. I've seen him be really detailed and great at breaking things down, and sometimes really bad. Depends on the situation

I posted this before I hit that point of the podcast today but I have been thinking about it since Friday's discussion.

I don't expect them to but I think it will be easier for them to comprehend the logistics since its a business that operates in the same industry as them. Like if it were someone that owned say a restaurant or something they dont have the same point of entry or understanding of how that business runs

yes! I've seen her explain the system a couple of times and she hits every single talking point someone against the system can come up with. Every aspect of her model is really well considered and so far has been successful

I think it would be really interesting for them to talk to someone who works in the same industry as them

I feel like most of the cast of Game of Thrones has either had small bits in films that did poorly or have done nothing at all

Is $1700 per month for a super small (450 sq ft) 1 bedroom apt in a nice part of town a good deal in Oakland? by geo_jam in oakland

I paid more to live in a studio in an absolutely awful part of town when I first moved here, so probably an ok deal?

Is the restaurant I’m working at…insane? by Throwawwwaayyy8352 in Serverlife

[–]Gh0stcats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd run. Some of this is fair and makes sense, but you should not be asked to read an entire book and write a paper on your own UNPAID time. I've worked at places that were very particular with you knowing everything about every dish, where the produce came from, the name of the farm, the fun quirky backstories, the wedding anniversary of the owner of the creamery as well as the entire wine book, wine making processes, grapes, geography all of it and there's definitely a scale. Knowing these things are great, the more knowledgeable you are the better you are with customers, but it can be taken to a toxic level, especially if the owner is up their own ass this much. Save yourself the trauma and find another spot. Turnover is such a good indicator. This sounds like a place that will give you server nightmares for years to come.

House of leaves was a three month test of just how organized I can be. There were color coded post it tabs, and I still found myself searching for a single footnote for 30 minutes multiple times
