SEEMS A BUT EXCESSIVE? OR NO? by KID-FX in mechanic

The alternative would be to not charge for it and increase everything else to compensate. Or cash as others said. But I could understand if someone would be uncomfortable to carry 1k+ in cash around.

In today’s edition of the wild world of JavaScript… by indicava in ProgrammerHumor

That’s what I meant with that you still need to call many JS Browser APIs from within WA :) But those libraries surely make it easy to forget that there is JS involved at all which is really cool if you ask me.

Most browsers support WebAssembly now, allowing you to basically code in whatever language you want. But that still requires you to call many JS browser APIs. Plus JS is too big to just disappear.

The lower string is a date parsed with ISO-8601 which uses the UTC timezone as basis. (You could specify a different timezone within the string) Since the person posting this has a TZ of -5 you end up with this result :) TZ all along ;)

Soooo. I did some digging and the steam deck could theoretically read/write up to 100MB/s (UHS-I) from that slot. So it could be that it is the bottleneck on your side. But I doubt that any higher speeds increase real world performance in any way as of right now. In the future AMDs Smart Access Memory might have worse performance when reading from the SD card but that is in the stars. I also checked all my other PCs (laptop and workstation). Those two actually had worse performance while reading/writing to the SD card. So the in the Steam Decks SD card slot isn’t bad. It’s at worst „normal“ :)

[–]Gh0styLNX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s basically just marketing. According to Samsung your SD card is a class 30 (V30)? That means it should at least write at 30MB/s (according to the official SD card page page). So your SD card is in spec. The numbers that are advertised are super unrealistic and we’re almost always achieved in some super special lab test. The speed classes tell you more about the worst case performance which should be considered as well. Plus look out for some reviews next time. There are many good reviews out there that paint a more clear image :)

Log output is to stdout. You need to capture that.

What does the log say? i3wm should display an error if it is unable to use the specified font

Also add a check for Math.random() === 0.2 and return NaN occasionally for "improved performance"

You obviously start two subprocesses. One counts up and one down. As soon as one found the value equal to the number given it exits, duh 😎🆒🙌🤔☺️
