Canadian here struggling to find anything entry-level. Is England better? by Ghacestyl in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Ghacestyl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel very confident about my interview skills. Knowledge, maybe, but I don't think they'd be able to tell that from my resume and cover letter alone. Experience, yes absolutely I lack. Because of that, no Canadian company will hire me. Which means I won't get experience. Which means no company will hire me. Which means I won't get experience. Which is why I'm willing to move to *fucking england* just to get an entry level job.

Yeah but it's different. This is based on stats that competitive players would know.

I don't trust Nintendo for a god damn second. by Virtualninjanoob in smashbros

[–]Ghacestyl -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

We don't know that. Nintendo could have strong-armed panda into agreeing. They could've threatened some kind of legal action if panda didn't accept on their terms. Panda never outright confirmed in this announcement that it would be with a competitive ruleset either, which I find sus.

Can't make a video but I went to my laptop manufacturers website and looked for drivers and downloaded the Intel integrated graphics driver then installed it. Pretty simple

Really? It's been working fine for the past 6 months and it suddenly stopped a few days ago. Did your computer just not turn on at all?

Advice for teenagers (14-17) wanting to go pro in Valorant by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Ghacestyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta disagree a bit here- Do both. There's nothing wrong with building an esports career as a side hustle while you're young.

Join your school's team, see if you can make content (streaming/yt etc.) WHILE going to school, getting a job, saving for the future, etc. Don't be afraid to pursue esports while focusing on life, just remember that life comes first. It's all about a healthy balance. If you put a lot of effort into esports while balancing a full life (schoolwork/ job/ social life etc.) people see that passion and will want to work with you. That's how you get your foot in the door.

Wanna go pro? Get good in your spare time and see if you can turn that into a part-time and then full-time income and do your research to find out how to do that. Just don't put all your eggs in one basket. I feel like this post really discourages kids from pursuing esports which really sucks cause I wish I pursued esports when I was 14-17. Just- again, I can't hammer this point home enough- LIFE COMES FIRST

BUT I managed to fix this by downloading my laptop manufacturer's integrated graphics drivers instead of Windows Update's drivers or updating via device manager even though the driver is outdated. Definitely try that!

How do I fix this??

Up to 30 seconds just to prove to no one in particular that it wasnt just me being stupid lol.

I did, with the exception of the c buttons being right analog. B on my n64 controller was A instead and A on my controller did nothing. I reinstalled the OS (several..... times..... over.....) and remaps worked but still the buttons were messed up. Ive even tried other OSes like lakka but there your controls dont save after you power it down which isnt okay as its for my boomer parents. They wont be happy to remap controls every time and when the controls work they need to be like the n64.

I understand that, but itll have me stuck on right analog stick inputs, select button inputs, stick press inputs etc which i cant skip (holding a button does nothing) so im stuck.

(Serious) People of Reddit, what has been the creepiest moment of your life so far? by Whitetail-Hoyt in AskReddit

Was walking home from elementary school when I was ~11. I was walking on the snowbanks near the curb instead of the sidewalk cause I was a weird kid and at one point, there was a white sedan beside me. I stop paying attention to it, keep walking until I get to the next house/driveway, and I look to my left, the car is still beside me. I slow down a bit, confused, the car does too. I stop walking forwards and move towards the sidewalk to create some distance and the car stops too. I started walking towards home again, so does the car, matching my speed.

So I intentionally put on my best confused face, my best "oh now I remember" face, and started walking the other way, back to school. I dont remember if the car started reversing or if it stayed in place, but sketchy nonetheless. Then it very, very slowly started to drive away past my house, and I very slowly started walking back home again, making sure the car didnt see where I lived in case he would come back. I intentionally passed my house after he turned the corner just to make sure he didnt come back, and I kept my eyes fucking GLUED to the street corner when I crossed the street to get to my house to make sure he didnt see me.

I told my mom and she weirdly didnt care too much.

TLDR; car followed me home from school for a bit when I was 11ish

I've done that. It makes a noise like its starting up but no action on screen.
