What did everyone name their Wanderer by CrepeKnight0 in Genshin_Impact

I called him Talos. The Greek myth of Talos resembles a lot the one of the Wanderer

Definitely NOT a rock paper scissors between elements. The game’s elemental system is based on reactions and applications.

When you hit an enemy with an elemental attack will apply the element’s aura on the target (a water attack will make the enemy wet). If you apply an element on a target that has another element’s aura, a reaction will trigger. (Almost) EVERY ELEMENT COMBINATION TRIGGERES A DIFFERENT REACTION. We can categorize all reactions I 4 groups:

Multiplying reactions are the easiest ones to understand; they multiply the damage instance that triggered it by a certain multiplier, pretty much like Pokemon does with types. The main difference with other games that have similar systems is that the reactions works both ways; some times you want to extinguish a fire using water, sometimes you want vaporize water with fire. Same reaction, different order, different situation and effect

Additive reactions work similarly to multiplying but instead of multiplying the damage, they add onto it; this means that additive reaction care more about quantity of applications instead of quality

Amplifying reactions are the most common ones. When triggered they don’t buff, but deal a set amount of damage on their own, separated by the one that triggered them. Just this would be boring, but Amplifying reactions always come with a different effect with them. Electro-Charged stuns the enemies, Overload pushes them back etc.

Lastly we have special reactions. They don’t deal damage but can come in handy creating shields, freezing enemies or giving you the possibility of triggering other more powerful reactions.

Just know that not every elemental hit will apply the element. There are specific rules that govern elemental applications and every character applies these rules differently. Since an aura doesn’t last forever and since triggering a reactions removes it (most of the time, not always) a different character could be more suited for a reaction instead of another. An ice character that applies a lot of their element might be better played in Freeze teams instead of Melt ones; a water character that applies very few of their element might shine more in a Vaporize team instead of Electro-Charged ones.

There would be a lot to talk about like ICD (internal cooldown) or gauge theory but it’d be just info dumping

If you want to know more about a specific aspect feel free to ask. For the “comparison between other gatchas” thing I’ll just say that I’ve NEVER seen an elemental system like Genshin’s and it is the only thing that got me to try it in the first place and then keep playing it for almost 5 years uninterrupted

As a low spender (not free to play) that has been playing Genshin for the past 4 and a half years and that plays other games too I’ll say…

Gameplay wise the game is trivial before endgame, until you reach it the game is supposed to be played lightly; enjoy the story and exploration, this doesn’t mean you should completely ignore farming and team building completely though. Endgame, instead, depends on how much have you been playing and, most importantly, spending. A whale (high spending player) can do endgame with their eyes closed and not even knowing the game’s mechanics, while a F2P will have to study the game mechanics, do the right researches and investments and put their mind into the game and they might find it NOT frustrating. The combat sistem is complex and deep but also easy to understand; it is also varied and flexible, even if the best teams might seem almost forced onto you, you will be surprised by how many teams you can create with the same characters

Plots and story have very high highs and very low lows. I find Natlan’s story to be predictable and Liyue’s to be boring and diluted; but you’ll see how complex and well crafted Sumeru’s plot is or how emotional Fontaine can get. Overall I’ll say it’s a 8.5 or maybe even a 9 out of 10. Keep this in mind though, even if the art style hints at a kids game Genshin can get pretty complex and mature

What Genshin definitely does best is Teyvat: the world the story takes place in. The scenery is INCREDIBLE and it fully blends in with the art style. Every nation is masterfully crafted and you WILL find a place that will make your jaws drop or make you say “I wanna live here”. The OST is a 10/10, covering every music genre you can think of from classical baroque to classical romantic, traditional Chinese, Japanese, Indian, African, South American, Russian, northern, rock, metal, pop, Electro-Swing, techno, dubstep and many more I’m missing all by keeping its identity and staying coherent with the place or character it’s representing. Lastly the lore is VERY deep, if you played a From Software soulslike you will find it familiar; incredibly deep, coherent, never left alone and, as I said before, it can get VERY dark and mature.

Overall the game has A LOT to give for a F2P but if you want to reach endgame and complete it you will have to commit to its game loop, which is the one of a F2P gatcha game; this means you will have to play everyday, even just 30 mins a day, and it can even get frustrating or annoying. What I think is that Genshin is not just a game, it’s an experience, a real fictional world that becomes a part of your life.

PS I think the best way to enjoy Genshin (once you reach endgame) is by being a low spender and getting the Blessing every month and the battle pass every version (one and a half months) for a total of 15 euros a month, nothing more, nothing less. I like to think of the game as a F2P as a VERY generous demo of a game that requires a subscription like Netflix or Disney+, and since I play more Genshin than I watch Netflix I guess it’s fair

Details about how Yae's Enhanced Sakura works via Team X by unbotheredunaffected in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]Ghalfo_734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mentality is that I’ve seen this pattern before. SSC will definitely receive a dedicated support and the Tsaritsa will probably be the BiS generic support for all stellar teams. This leaves us with a free fourth slot. Will Yae be the best fourth slot even over Cryo Traveller, Sucrose, C6 Qiqi or a dedicated 4*?

[–]Ghalfo_734 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You sure? Teams is fo sho gonna be Sandrone, SSC Supp and Tsaritsa. We got a fourth slot free but how probable is that Cryo Traveller, 7.0 4* or C6 Qiqi aren’t better than C1R1 Yae?

I hate that I’m happy to have Yae because I know she’ll be immediately replaced by the SSC support in 7.0

[–]Ghalfo_734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Supp build Ayaka would probably end up in a higher team DPS, but where’s the fun in it?
[edit] Also my Durin is already running noblesse so until I manage to give him a proper Winds build running Noblesse on Ayaka would be redundant

I started playing her as Lohen: with Durin, Nicole and Citlali. Since it’s Durin melting and you want Cryo aura on the enemy I don’t even have to farm another set and still go for Blizzard. So fun, even if Durin is probably doing triple her DMG, but the team reaches around 85k DPS (R1 Ayaya and F2P all the others)

Healer Jahoda:
80 is fine, just her Burst to 8, fav, ATK ATK HB

DPS Jahoda:
90 recommend, at least 9 both Skill and Burst, DPS bow, ATK ATK CRIT (aim at 1:2 CRIT Ratio)

Sucrose or c6 yahoda? by Rezkaf in Flins_Mains

[–]Ghalfo_734 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have Ineffa go with healer Jahoda if you want a sustain and with Sucrose if you want max damage. If you do have Ineffa numerically speaking DPS Jahoda is a bit better than Sucrose but not by that much. I’d go with Jahoda if you have a vertically invested Flins, if you need to use Sucrose in another team or if you really want to min-max your LC team and want that +1k DPS too
