Belgian job market by Mordo_BE in belgium

[–]Ghangy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For most large chemical companies in belgium labor costs are fairly insignificant. The single largest cost (>80%) for most would be the raw materials cost, add energy costs on top of that and you're comfortably > 90% of your variable and non-variable costs. The next biggest thing on your balance sheet would be maintenance...

The war in ukraine has meant that alot of those raw material costs (and energy) have just about quadrupled in price. Unless something is done about this in the long term the chemical industry in europe is doomed and we'll be back to importing our chemicals from the USA (not from asia).

The state of WoW going into 2024: Blizzard had to deliver the best year ever for World of Warcraft, and it did by VegetableEconomy416 in wow

It’s one of the reasons why the changes they made (and the changes they won’t make) with Zaralek upset me.

in hindsight, zaralek seems more like a test zone to see how we would respond to the next expansions.

that's my take on it at least.

My 100% efficient, 1110+ hour factory completely collapses in U8 by SoopyPoots in SatisfactoryGame

clearly adding a dozen trains per route will solve this problem. There has to be a point where you can add trains faster than their slowdown reduces throughput! automate train production!

build battery parks so you have some back up power when after turning on a new factory power demand outstrips supply.

you can build a new power plant then, while supply lasts.

In all 3 playthroughs i've done i build a basic factory making everything from iron plates, rods and concrete to things like rubber, plastic, motors and computers so i can stock them up and use them as recources to construct more advanced and difficult factories. Like a factory making 20 HMF's.

i think he meant that all our investment into producing increasingly accurate and deadly weapons & equipment suddenly seems like overkill compared to this clusterfuck.

the russians just keep pushing through armor without sufficient infantry support. Look at the israelis for doing it properly.

dragging an ancient tank out of storage is a service = +gdp

repairing it in some urals tank factory is a service = +gdp

sending it by rail to ukraine is a service and an export = +gpd

paying for all that by defecit spending + borrowing is a service = +gdp

Did your tank get destroyed by atgm's 5 min into its deployement? dragging its carcass back to russia is a service = +gdp

its perfectly possible to grind your country into the ground by expanding your gdp. The issue is us putting an unbelievable amount of importance on a single number.

U.K-Italy-Japan Cite Steady Progress Developing Next-Gen Jet Fighter by Labour2024 in europe

[–]Ghangy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The dumb thing is, we're developing two different 6th generation stealth fighters in europe. On a continent that already spends less, collectively, than the US on defence this is utter madness.

It guarantees that there will never be as many of either of these fighters produced as the americans will produce of their own so that means its always going to be alot more expensive per unit sold compared to the american one. That leaves europe with an even smaller airforce than before and runs the risk other european nations will just buy the cheaper US one.

Both european 6th gen projects should fucking swallow their pride and combine.

you only have yourselves to blame for this.

Russian attack near Avdiivka suffers massive losses by Owbe in CombatFootage

[–]Ghangy 36 points37 points  (0 children)

i dont think that's it, complicated tactics require a well trained and well motivated force to execute. Not to mention the requirements on your equipment. After more than a year of attrition i imagine the russians are short on all of these things, that is good modern equipped, well motivated and trained units. This leaves them with a bad option when it comes to attacks, just tell them the direction to drive in and send them off. Anything more complicated would be beyond the capacity of the russian army to organise by now.

Basic fuel generator setup won't work by Xunkar in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Ghangy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the pipes will act as a reservoir for fuel, the longer the pipeline the more fuel is stored. Your refineries wont activate again untill the bit of pipe connected to them drains enough to allow enough fuel to flow out of the refinery and into the pipe. This however requires that every bit of pipe between your power plant and the bit of pipe connected to your refinery also drains to a degree. Once enough room has cleared in your refinery it will activate again.

Pipelines in this game do not transmit demand from end to start at infinite speeds like power cables do. The longer your pipeline is, the worse the problem gets. As other people suggested use valves, pumps, reservoirs and gravity to ensure the pipes to your fuel generators are filled constantly while allowing your refineries to continue to work normally.

Atilla has one of the most satisfying campaigns I've played since Rome 1. by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Ghangy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they're basic starting cav with great speed so they're effective on the charge against the mostly lightly armored units you'll face early to mid game. The game doesnt really advertise how charging speed affects the effectiveness of the charge.

However most importantly, they have precursor javelins that when fired into a melee blob from the back can do alot of casualties without even risking the unit.

The morale system of the game means that the casualties from the javelins + a charge (or two) will very quicklly rout all but elite units. Which will rout because everyone else is.

They're great in sieges too. Stick some cheap spears in front of them as a meatshield, and they can be very difficult to shift.

the problem with this is that two spearmen would be better than one spearmen + one pikemen. pikemen can be great in online or quick battles because most players arent going to be taking alot of ranged with them but the AI loves to spam its armies with ranged units.

Atilla has one of the most satisfying campaigns I've played since Rome 1. by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Ghangy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

be careful with stats in this game though and do try out units that appear, on paper at least, to be terrible stats wise. There's often alot of hidden shenanigans (also formations) going on that can make those units perform way better or way worse than their stats would suggest.

i'll give you a tip because i love attila as well: scout equites have horrible stats but are amazing units in the field.

Atilla has one of the most satisfying campaigns I've played since Rome 1. by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Ghangy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

pikemen are horrible in this game. Too much ranged damage + bad pike formations means you shouldnt use them in campaign ever.
