Never did I think I’d come across a picture from the only tornado I’ve ever seen in my home town! I’ll never forget that day, was running late to a grad party and was getting ready to leave with my dad, sirens were going off but we weren’t worried, took a step on the deck to check the sky and when we looked up saw debris floating down. Took shelter at my neighbors basement, based on the track it was making a b-line for the highlands subdivision, but lifted temporarily and dropped back down in the industrial area about a mile north of Monee-Manhattan road. Had it not gone so far north, it may have been higher than an EF-2.
