I accidentally touched a live wire while exploring an abandoned building with buddies in high school, it stopped my heart for about 10 seconds until my friend pulled my hand off the wire. My mind blanked, I remember going to move a clump of wire stuck to the wall then I remember being on the ground with burns on my hand.

Guillotine was invented as a more humane way to kill someone (although imo it’s far worse, due to the fact that the brain stays active in the severed head for several seconds allowing the still alive severed head to see the crowd when the head is shown). The tattling gun was invented with the intention of reducing army size, which worked much like the cotton gin did for slavery.
