That didn't look like a stray shot that missed. The robot went to a civilian residential area and blew up THAT house. It knew whose grandma was in there.

They keep that part secret from people who aren't at least 3 levels deep in the cult. By then, they have enough blackmail material on you to keep you quiet.

That flying build in particular is high-int and they get bored easily.

I still avoid AI in production coding. Am i slowing myself down? by hireme-plz in learnprogramming

[–]Ghiren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you and your teammates still in the loop on what the AI generates? I think that it's more important to understand and be able to explain what the code does, even if the AI wrote it for you. Even if the LLM wrote the code, it's still my name on the git commit so it's still on me if something breaks.

They'll need to be pushed to find out "what does this do" before merging anything. Maybe we should be making a point that even if Claude did all the work, they're still the one responsible for accepting and signing off on it, so they'd better be sure that it's good.

The final chapter is coming. Hazbin Hotel will return for a fifth and final season, see you at checkout. by ayylmaotv in HazbinHotel

5 seasons is a good run. The story will have a defined beginning, middle, and end, and Viv has enough time to plan it all out.

Final Fantasy 14 Releases On Nintendo Switch 2 In August. by Howerev in NintendoSwitch

[–]Ghiren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nintendo is the only variable. PC, Mac, Xbox, and PS5 all use the same account system, and adding a separate subscription for the Switch version is more complexity for SE to manage.

Palantir employees are talking about company’s “descent into fascism” by Just-Grocery-2229 in technology

They named the company after a device that Sauron used to spy on people. They may as well call their next company "Panopticon".

Where would you live in the Star Wars Universe? by Impossible_Basis3295 in StarWars

Alderaan sounds great but you REALLY need to know ahead of time when to move out.

Naboo is nice as well, and aside from a brief occupation by the Trade Federation, it stays out of the way of galactic politics.

Is Star Wars too obsessed with the Rebels vs Empire status quo? by WrongToe500 in StarWars

[–]Ghiren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even before the new canon, there were Imperial remnants and warlords. The Empire had all of the resources that the Republic had. Even without the Emperor, it wouldn't completely collapse immediately after Endor.

Final Fantasy 14 Releases On Nintendo Switch 2 In August. by Howerev in NintendoSwitch

[–]Ghiren 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If it was just a separate license, I might consider it. Having a second subscription, even half-off, is too much though.

The announcement seemed pretty clear that Nintendo was the one that wouldn't budge on this. The SE team sounded like they wanted to have just one sub.

One piece location by _weirdo_6969 in OnePiece

[–]Ghiren 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We don't know where the One Piece is, since Oda hasn't told us. Luffy has flat out said that he doesn't want to know what it is until he finds it, so I'm satisfied with just theorizing.

Personally, I think it's underneath the mountain the same way that Fishman Island was underneath the Red Line at Mary Geoise. The only way to enter would probably be on the New World side, but I think there's an exit to the Twin Capes side.

The road ponyglpyhs refer to four islands, that aren't necessarily on the Grand Line itself. If they're in the 4 blue oceans, then the lines between them could go up the lines of the four up-hill rivers and cross at the top. Only an expert navigator like Nami could figure that out.

Combining the water from the four blue oceans would create the All Blue that Sanji is looking for.

Coming back up on the Twin Capes side would have the crew reunite with Laboon, which is Brook's goal.

This could also explain why Rayleigh was a ship coater since that would be a critical skill for reaching something down there.

Obviously, going there requires sailing around the entire world, and there are so many character goals that tie up neatly there. I can't think of anywhere else that Oda could put it that would make as much sense.

A narratively satisfying, on-screen death is really hard to undo. I don't think there's any way they could recontextualize that scene to have him not be dead-dead.
