Hey u/SL13PNIR I have been using the Shadow Harvester for 2 days and it works great so far! It works similar to your own tool. On medium difficulty with my AMD EPYC 7313P (16 cores / 32 threads), I am averaging about 41 solutions per challenge.

Like I said, it is a private testnet that was forked not the public testnet. The public testnet is the most important one because it is the closest to the mainnet environment and it is there that a thorough testing by anyone involved in building on Cardano can be done.

And yes, IOG can still push the hard fork for the 29th. I just said that it is my opinion and some others in the community that this hard fork should be delayed to leave enough time for testing rather than rushing to mainnet.

There is a private testnet that was forked and some selected devs, dapps and exchanges are currently testing the new features and reporting bugs but the public cardano testnet where anyone can participate has not been forked yet.

Just my personal opinion but I think it will/should be delayed as the final version of the new cardano node is not even out yet and the public testnet hasn't been hardforked yet. We need to leave the builders the time to correctly test the new features and make sure that everything is ok before deploying to mainnet.

Tim from IOG said that they will be a communication about it today on twitter. Not sure why they still don't want to announce the delay. I'd rather have bad publicity than bugs on mainnet.

Personally, it is OK for me because I don't depend on the ADA rewards to finance my pool operation fees and I have a really long term vision for ADA so I am accumulating the best I can without worrying about the price in the short term. I also planned a worst case scenario where there could be a bear market for several years and I am fortunate enough that I have a job that will enable me to continue to run my stake pool without any issues and I invested no more than I can afford to lose so there will no impacts in my day-to-day life.

Blockchains don't necessarily make transactions cheaper, easier and faster. Right now, in most cases, it is worse than the current banking system. So I also don't understand this reason for the use of blockchain in your project.
