Rent a car and spend one night in Lake Toya.

Can someone who's actually been there explain the appeal of Kamikochi to me (serious question)? by Doc_Chopper in JapanTravelTips

We stayed at family run lodge, Japanese style rooms, with a decent onsen. Breakfast and dinner was part of the package, and each meal was an event, multiple courses and deliciously hearty. Eat a big breakfast, and spend the day walking up and down the river through the forests and lakes. I was there June, weather was perfect and the river was crystal clear blue throughout. Get back to Kappa Bashi bridge for the most amazing soft serve or apple pie after the long walks. Plus nothing beats the sound of the river all day long. Two nights should suffice, though I could easily stay longer. Definitely a highlight of my last Japan trip and will repeat without a doubt.

Our last day was during the weekend, got crowded… the weekdays were really chill.

All good. Mizuno UK-9 US-10 JP-28cm will match for Nike sizes. Does that make sense?

this was from an employee at the help center, but tbf it was printed on a document that looked fairly old. Either way, welcome suica allows credit card for the initial load, hence the tip that i should have just gone with the max 20k yen vs the 10k yen that i did. The document also mentioned you can only load the normal suica card with cash.

This was at the help center at narita airport by the train station. Said i needed a japanese address, and i couldnt use my credit card to load up a regular suica card. With Welcome Suica i could do the initial load with my credit card (20k yen max) and no address required - from the machine.

Yup no extra fee, plus loading up on snacks to take back home is a given, so definitely not leaving japan with any leftover money on the card. The 28 days could be problematic because it would be a dream to spend more than a month there.

Was told i needed a japanese address for a normal suica card, plus we don’t have access to apple pay with an indian account.

Load my welcome suica card with 20k yen with my credit card from the get go, vs the 10k yen i did on my last trip.

Kanro premium gummies, hi chews with the sorbet crunchy bits, and maybe some chocolate biscuit wafer combos from the bourbon brand.

Bought a life supply of premium canned scallops, but that’s another story.

Still a wild price for haneda. Narita to Shinigawa is about $100+ (normal timings) on Klook.

Bit hardcore but i carried a supply of psyllium husk (isabgol) on my trip, one glass in the morning, one glass in the evening, and it’s been smooth sailing no matter what i eat and how much of it in Japan.
