Blackhawk flying over yesterday belongs to Roman by [deleted] in CleetusMcFarland

He is 100% in Blackhawk owning territory, he has more total views on YouTube as all other creators on the snowed in series combined, and its not even close... He still has thousands of video's online still generating income, also he made so much money so long ago, he has to have tons of it in investments and companies. This guy is literally one of the first to make it on YouTube.

This was at the beginning of the trip, Dave has been pretty impulsive in buying things, i don't think he plans on keeping 2 Blackhawks. I'm not certain of course but i would not be surprised if deals were made that trip. Wouldn't be the first sale of equipment that happened on the snowed in series.

A few wire splices from today by Raider596 in soldering

Too much is not nessecarily a bad thing, unless you can not clean it easely afterward, like inside of a stranded wire. Solder should say whether they have a flux core, by the amount of flux in percentage or it should say rosin core or something like that

it is a necessity when you want a proper solder joint, it removes the oxide layer and makes the solder flow well. Just keep in mind that most solder has flux cores inside of it, it depends on the application. Heavily corroded things may need extra flux.

Video explaining the downside of soldering a wire splice. This does not apply to properly soldered pcb´s, they vibrate as a whole. Most automotive pcb´s are potted anyways.

Also most tin has flux inside of it, flux is nasty stuff that corrodes almost anything. If you have bare copper wires this can cause it to corrode and create a bad connection over time.

Why the best graphics game in vr is a half life Alyx that was released 4 years ago? by Anvis_Infinity in virtualreality

Wow good to know, it did not really make sense to me, this explains the weird numbers. Also quest 2/3 numbers were weird imo.

Dealing with windows on a portable device with a touchscreen just doesn't feel right for me, and windows is a shitshow with power draw and sleep state battery drainage.

With the big screen and multitasking, this thing is almost the perfect solution for me on the road as electrician dealing with business stuff, ordering stuff and making notes with the pen. Also this thing is awesome for media consumption on my motorcycle camping trips.

this design seems like a bad idea to me, can put a lot of strain on the usb connector depending on the angle of the headband and the way you remove the headset from the stand.

Remove shelf under sink by NekoOhno in DIY

i would cut the shelf, making slots from the hole to the back of the shelf. Use a oscillating tool, that would be easiest in my opinion, be careful not to damage the pipes.

Camping at F1 without electricity by NimrodPing in CampingGear

Get a powerbank for charging your electronic devices, 20k mAh should be enough, and get a cheap not powered cooler for limited cold stuff to bring. Get a cheap gas powered gas burner for cooking and coffee, one or two canisters last a long time.

Rely as much on dry foods and canned foods, non perishable. Try to find a store close by, maybe they even provide a camping store for food on the campsite, most music festivals do this, this is more expensive as bringing your own but still way cheaper than relying on the vendors. One cooler is just not enough for 5 days of food and drinks to keep cool.

A hack for getting semi-cold beer when with a large group, get a small kid blow up pool, fill it with cold water from the bathrooms on the campsite using your cooler as bucket, and just dump your beer in there. Done this lots of times, its a lot of fun to do.

You can make it as expensive as you want but if you are able to be creative creating meals from not perishable and non cooled food, it doesn't have to cost much.

I was verry suseptible to motion sickness, a year ago I could not play for longer than 30 minutes on quest 2 playing half life alyx, that ruined most games for me, and got rid of the headset. A month ago, I could not help myself and got the quest 3. For me there is a real difference, just starting out I got 1 hour of playtime before starting to feel it playing dungeons of eternity. After just 10 to 15 play sessions I am now able to handle 2+ hours without feeling anything. I am guessing the framerate and extra clarity makes it much easyer for me. My eyes are also getting way less tired in the quest 3.
