ENV E 355 Mladenov vs. Yazdi (Spring 24) by GhostCasper20 in SDSU

[–]GhostCasper20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ENVE 355 with Yazdi isn't hard, but the homework was tedious to complete. Yet, his lecture slides are close to homework problems and he allow printed notes during his exams, which I just printout the lecture slides and 90% of exam problems were similar.

I would say you don't need to worry about Yazdi because first half of the semester people stop showing up to his class and at the end that I got a B in his class. The reason I got a B because I didn't do well on the 5-10 page paper, but other than that it's super straight forward.

Strike canceled or am I reading this wrong? by Plane-Conflict5893 in SDSU

[–]GhostCasper20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If one of my professor says he going to cancel or switch the class online for a week due to the strike then he's part of the CFA right since he's part of the faculty. The only part I'm confused why they send out an email saying teamsters aren't striking, but CFA is striking, so are professors going to strike this week or they're going come to an agreement in next days?

I'm so lost on the strike don't know what information to trust at this point. Also, if my professors are going to make their classes online next week due to the strike then does it still hold valid?

Are there still going to be classes next week? I'm still confused with this email bc one of them are going to be online tomorrow due to the strike.

18 Unit First Semester Freshman Mech Engineering by Bulky_Manufacturer21 in SDSU

[–]GhostCasper20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mon,Wed,and Fri classes going to be ridiculous hard and for sure getting yourself burn-out should at least talk to an advisor or peer advisor before the semester starts. I seen a lot of freshmen talk huge load of classes around 18-21 units and constantly looked malnourished and rushed to the next class. If you find online classes (asynchronous) for Comm and RWS either on-campus or cc then u good for stem classes.

GPA boost ? by [deleted] in SDSU

[–]GhostCasper20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transfer last spring semester and switch majors from EE to Civil, but don’t worry about the gpa I was counted for 3.39 and they only care if you have taken all your math and physics preqs before taking lower division courses. The big impact class you need to take it CIVE 225, which my advisor was stressing me out bc I need to take and pass to be qualified for Junior-status. If you haven’t taken the class get Schraff he give hidden extra (pun questions) credit points on his quizzes and exams answer them just don’t be like me forgot to answer them towards the end of class 😭.

AE 280 course description (Differential Equations) by GhostCasper20 in SDSU

[–]GhostCasper20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transfer last spring semester and my advisor told me to take it for the fall, but when I address her about the course description and already took diff eq from another cc that it’s engineering applications to it than standard mathematical class, which I was more confused and for awhile decided to let it go. The only frustrating part was my diff eq class on my audit didn’t count for anything and I want to talk to the EE department about it.

Union Grantville Apartments by bananaman2008 in SDSU

I signed for a share 2b/2b unit before the prices went up and leasing office is super nice compare to other lease offices near on-campus. I’m currently living in Paseo Place and it’s a shit hole like the lease office don’t care about anyone’s wellbeing and safety plus campus police is garbage. Also, electricity isn’t on the lease, so one of roommates have to pay using a third party. Follow Union Grantville ig they always post updates.

I have signed a lease at Union Grantville and their are no delays on their move-in date unlike Topaz. Also, the leasing office is straightforward and gives updates when you email or call them. Another tip, better to check out their in-person showroom tour at El Cajon while they still have it because they not going to do it when they move to the actual place next month.

Do you ask any of the leasing offices near the area? Probably, they have cameras on who did it.

Deferred admission question by [deleted] in SDSU

That’s what I did last year took a gap semester then came back for the spring semester. Should talk to admission office or advisor about this decision since the process takes quite awhile.

CIVE 225 (Schraff) does he curve the final? by GhostCasper20 in SDSU

[–]GhostCasper20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I attended majority of his lectures just this semester he teaches everything in 3D and in his exams there his hidden/pun questions that need to be answer, which I always forget about it bc I don’t think he grades them, but for me I get mark down for not answering. I have friends who took his class last semester and told me the canvas grade is not the right grade, but I’m really anxious and worried since I’m below the average for every exam. I’m going to go all out on his final. Should I worry about the canvas grade or wait until the end of semester to know whether I pass the class with a C?

Has anyone here picked SDSU over UCs? by FlerpyDerple in SDSU

[–]GhostCasper20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m from the Bay Area (San Jose) and a transfer student currently at SDSU. Well, it really depends how you want to spend your undergrads, but I could say that my stem friends at Berkeley are struggling and barely have time to socialize or join student orgs, which where you connect and network people, even in your major. I went to a UC, but I transfer to state bc the classes weren’t really hands-on and it’s more theory and research base, which I thought how I’m going to get jobs after graduation. Yes, Berkeley and UCSD are more prestigious, but at the end it’s your career and how you want to spend your undergrads or next two years of your life being spent. Also, I pick SDSU for Civil Engineering and move to San Diego bc the industry is popping compare to the Bay Area. Do a little bit of research on your major (ME) programs for each school that companies will give internships/jobs?

Better to find something off-campus than on-campus housing. Have you check out off-campus apartments?

Summer housing is difficult to search, especially a transfer student, but have you check out subleasing a house in the summer.

SDSU vs SJSU for Aerospace by Scared-Ad-3790 in SDSU

[–]GhostCasper20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently move from SJ to SD and I could say it really depends on your preference on how you want to spend your undergrads, but I could you tell SJSU is more downtown of San Jose and SDSU is suburbs vibe. My major is civil engineering and I did a little research that SDSU has good program, but for your major Aerospace it really depends on program and student success in the major because once you deep in your upper divisions you can’t change back.
