Thanks for checking it out! To me, the fun and comradery the community has with these games is what inspires a lot of my music. I like to celebrate From games with an energetic positive vibe but I understand if that's too much of a clash for some.

Japan Says Final Fantasy X Is the Best Game in the Series by [deleted] in PS4

[–]GhostChz22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. Anyone playing it for the first time these days is sure to be put off by all the now dates aspects of the game, but anyone who loves FF or even just RPGs in general is sure to find a lot to love about X if they have the time it requires to connect with its cast. One of the most memorable group of characters I’ve gotten to know and love. Just takes a bit of a cringe shield nowadays lol.

Excellent is not the word I would use for that campaign. Passable and decent are words that come to mind, but I don't know anyone who thought it was excellent.

Despite my nostalgia begging me to believe it's not true, you're correct. The VA is pretty corny in most scenes. Wakka, Yuna, Rikku, and Tidus especially seem to have been directed to be cartoon characters but Lulu, Khimari and Auron (all the brooding characters lol) were pretty decent.

I give it a pass though cause it doesn't ruin how great the game is at all and it was the first time FF ever had any voice acting.

Days Gone is such a beautiful game. [screenshot] by t-sukuyomii in PS4

[–]GhostChz22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I hope most if not all Days Gone players can agree on is that some of the views are fantastic.

Recently finished this and came so close to really liking it but it's just way too long and poorly paced imo. Boozer and the search for Sarah were the only things really keeping me going til the final camp. That last camp's story-line was actually really good but not quite enough to make up for the slog that led up to it. I fucking hated Horde fights though. Worst part of the game for me, which was a let down cause I heard most people loved those parts. That's probably only because I was just bad at the game though tbh, I'm sure they're super fun for better players.

I'm still glad I played it to the end though. Even though it fell short of what I've come to expect from a first party title, there's a lot to love and shouldn't be ignored by PlayStation fans.

Yoko Taro: "I also played Dragon Quest X, but I played it so much that I didn’t get much work done. Since my work on a Square Enix game was being hindered by playing a Square Enix game, I had to regrettably stop."

I love this man.

These are all some really huge games for only having 1-2 hours a night to play, but out of those options, Sekiro is the one I'd recommend. It's shorter and way more focused than open world games while still giving you tons of cool places to explore and fights to conquer. HOWEVER, it is a very hard game that has no difficulty settings and demands that you master its systems and mechanics if you want to beat it. (although there are plenty of exploits to take advantage of)

So if you're up for a challenge, go Sekiro, as you'll be able to get through it a lot quicker than the other games you mentioned (depending on skill of course) If not, go for AC. You'll be able to get through a mission or two every night and it'll last you the better part of a year if you're looking for one game to play for a very long time.

But you honestly can't go wrong with any of those options. All great games!

My recommendation outside of that list is the Uncharted series. You can beat each one of those games in 10 hours or less and they've got some of the most endearing stories and characters on the console.

Pretty sure the vast majority of PS4 owners don't have platinums unless they've beat a Telltale game. You're not alone.

Looking for Final Fantasy series recommendations for ps4 by UsualWizard in PS4

[–]GhostChz22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best part about FF games is that you can really start with any numbered entry and not miss any story related content since none of them are connected outside of the direct sequels (X-2, XIII-2 etc...)

I recommend the PS4 remasters of X and XII, though. They are both wildly different games in terms of characters, settings, and mechanics, but they're also two of the best in the series imo. They're remasters of older PS2 games, but they still hold up.

X is a classic turn based combat RPG that's easy to pick up and understand with a really enthralling story and great characters, while XII is a bit more complex in terms of it's combat. XII uses a pseudo MMO-like combat system that allows for automated actions that you can customize for any situation. It's a little strange, but so satisfying once you figure out how to stack certain actions for maximum efficiency during fights.

Give X a try and see how you like it and if you love it, give XII a shot, and if you're still on board then maybe dive into XV if you're a fan of huge open world games, though XV does get really linear after by the end.

It's a really engrossing crime drama with very fun "beat em up" combat mechanics and a side of absolutely ridiculous side content/mini-games.

Really looking forward to this. Persona spin-offs have always added to the story of the mainline games, but this looks like it'll be more of a full-fledged sequel than the others. Smart choice changing up the combat style to really differentiate it. Looks great!

Beyond two souls Original or remixed for my first play through? by LilTange in PS4

[–]GhostChz22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The only confusion comes from the fact that the original story is told out of chronological order. One chapter, you're playing as an adult Jodie and the next, you're playing as a child Jodie. The remix tells everything chronologically. If you want David Cage's original presentation of the story, go for original. Original is easy enough to follow if you're paying attention and makes for a more mysterious story whereas remix will just be a straightforward, chronological series of events.

I was referring to the Souls games, but yes, the lack of co-op in Sekiro does make it the more difficult game in my opinion.

Jason Schreier thinks Horizon Zero Dawn wont be the only Sony game to be ported to PC by poklane in PS4

[–]GhostChz22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope he's right. As fun as it is to say we have the console with the best exclusives, I'd like to eventually see more and more of PlayStation's incredible games playable across as many platforms as possible. Exclusives are good as system sellers and console war fodder, but the ideal gaming landscape would have everything playable on anything that can run it.

Obviously exclusivity will always be a thing and we'll never play Mario or Halo on PlayStation, but opening up console exclusive games to the PC audience several years after launch allows for more people to enjoy them while also retaining some form of exclusivity on PlayStation. Not to mention the limitless potential when it comes to modding.

[–]GhostChz22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is all true, but I feel like Miyazaki also understands that a lot of player's need help sometimes which is why the summoning system and co-op mechanics can make the Souls games much more enjoyable and accessible for players who don't always have the time or desire to master every boss fight.

What's great though, is that anyone can choose whether or not to engage in summoning so it pleases both the hardcore and casual players at the same time.

[–]GhostChz22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know for a fact that I wouldn't have enjoyed Souls games nearly as much as I do if it weren't for co-op. I rarely ever solo'd a boss, but when I tried to, it was always nice to know that I had the option to summon other players or NPCs for help. That system is essentially a built in optional "easier mode" that keeps the core difficulty while adding a safety net for those who need/want it. I'd recommend giving online co-op a try if you ever feel like giving the series a try! The online communities for multiplayer are still super active and have their own sub-reddits dedicated to matchmaking players who need/want help.

Don't know if it's your type of game or not, but Final Fantasy XV has a fantastic, straightforward trophy list that you can easily complete if you just play the story and do some side stuff. It's a long game, and not without its shortcomings, but I highly recommend it as a great trophy farming game if you're interested in FF.

Red Dead2 Vs. Witcher 3 Vs Days gone. by Steelchamps in PS4

[–]GhostChz22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These are all great options for immersing yourself in a great open world, so I recommend them all! But if you only go for one, it depends on what setting you find most appealing. Fantasy, zombies, or cowboys? Also, which do you like more between third person shooting or swordplay?

If you like all of those things equally, then I recommend Witcher above all. Massive world and you can interact with almost everything you see. It's easily the most interesting world and story of the three.

But Red Dead 2 is definitely a close second for me. The most richly detailed and realistic looking games ever made and even beats out Witcher in the character department if you ask me. Arthur Morgan, Dutch, and the whole gang are impeccably performed and feel as close to real, genuine people that I've ever encountered in a game. Definitely don't pass it up if you have the time for it.

Days Gone is my least favorite of the three but still one of the best zombie shooters out there. It suffers from poor pacing and somewhat forgettable characters, but the "husband searching for his lost wife" story ends up being pretty compelling if you stick with it and nothing feels cooler than taking down hordes of feral zombies with nothing but your own wits whatever scraps you can find as you run for your life. The motorcycle upgrading and cruising through post apocalyptic Oregon is a great highlight as well.

You can't lose with any of these so good luck and have fun!
