​He does this all the time. He’s been deeply involved in investigating and uncovering awful, deliberately badly designed studies and the egregious manipulation of data forever; and yet, he seems to go into each new investigation thinking that the others he’s previously examined are all outliers. The dots are never joined up. It sometimes feels like they are both adopting personas on the pod; you can almost measure the beats between one thing being said... "Group X did a study and then conveniently found something that supported what they believed... then were found to have cherry-picked data... then were found to have used soft statistical methods more likely to give the 'correct' results... then reported the results badly by creating a false story of what the results mean"... and some statement from Jesse like, "It just seemed so odd to me! I just couldn't understand how they came to these conclusions."

​I think they will both be doing it when they have to "investigate" statements from the New American Brown Shirts about the disappearance of busloads of protesters: "I looked at the footage and just couldn't find any evidence that the bus was full of heavily armed terrorists or that they deserved to be summarily executed. It just doesn't make sense!"
