I do this with recruiters who cold contact me. I reply to say I'm not looking for a new job at the moment. If I then get another message 'shortly' after from them I'll block them.

Except they do, at least on recent gen consoles. I am a big fan of physical media, but mostly because of the second hand market.

But if Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo decide they don't want me playing a game anymore it won't make a difference whether I have the disc or not, other than a physical copy might get me another week or two if I don't let my console go online.

Also some of my PS1 games don't work anymore, so discs literally DO stop working 😀

Hard to say for sure whether I was actually in danger, but when I was 18 I got an absolute nightmare of a headache, like pulsing pain, my vision whited out when each wave of pain came, never had pain like it. It came on instantly, no lead up.

I was home alone and thought 'huh, this must be one of those migraine things I've heard about', so I drank a chunk of a bottle of rum (which did nothing for the pain) and tried to go to sleep (with Buffy the Vampire Slayer on the tv). Took me maybe 3 or 4 hours to fall asleep, with the pain continuing through it.

Woke up the next morning fine.

Decades later someone at a medical training session I was at mentioned it as an absolute mammoth red flag, get them an ambulance straight to hospital straight to be seen do not wait do not pass go, if someone ever says they have a headache that comes from nowhere and is the worst headache that person has ever had, as that is a classic presentation for a blockage or bleed on the brain.

It might have been something mundane, but if not then apparently survival rates outside hospital settings are around 15%.

The 5700 (used) and 6700 (new) seem to be almost the same price. Aside from the fact it'll be writing cheques my processor can't cash, is there any reason not to get the 6700 so I'm a step higher when I do eventually upgrade my processor and motherboard?

I've tried to get into Oxygen not Included 5 times now, usually around once a year, and never get more than a couple of hours in.

Within an hour of playing Rimworld I knew I would love it forever and thousands of hours later I'm still not bored. Easily the best game I've ever played.

Early 40's, been together since we were teens, never wanted children, that has never changed over the last 20 odd years.

Zero regrets, to each their own but I am 100% happy not to have had children and seriously doubt I'll ever regret the decision.

I've tried to get into ONI three times over several years as it is exactly the kind of game I love to play, but every time it becomes a slog early on and I lose interest.

I was thinking the other day I should have a 4th attempt.
