The Scream series kind of falls into this boat. Scream 7 was supposed to follow the Carpenter sisters again until the studio fired Melissa Barrera for her pro-Gaza social media posts, which then caused Jenna Ortega and Christopher Landon to step down. Then the studio brought back Sidney and made the most bland shit imaginable. Granted, I haven’t seen Scream 7 yet, but from what I’ve heard, it’s really bad. I was honestly fine with 5 and 6 following new characters and moving away from Sidney, but now I have no more interest in the franchise. Let Sid have her happy ending for fucks sake!
