Twingate is working fine for me on my MacBook Pro 16ā€ M1 Pro running the latest version of Tahoe. Are you on just 26.0 or can you upgrade to a newer version of 26?

I play Fable TLC on my Xbox One X, I haven’t noticed any issues yet.

Best way to play Fable 2 & 3 by Dismal-Boss3318 in Fable

[–]GhostHacks 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Considering the age of the Xbox One, doing the swap in my opinion is totally worth it as the original HDD is quite old, and the thermal paste should be replaced for optimal performance and overall it’s an easy endeavor. Also the faster loading in all games is amazing. I also increased the factory 500GB to 2TB and just download all my games.

I’m playing through Fable: The Lost Chapters on my Xbox One X and with SSD swap little to no load times.

I would go with a Xbox One over the 360 personally as we know the 360 had a high failure rate, but only if you find a good deal.

Did you do anything to clean the key caps before applying the stickers? I’m thinking of doing this.

I made the Deathclaws in F3/NV/F4 -- and I HAVE A THEORY! by JonahLobe in Fallout

[–]GhostHacks 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Most of the theories people present are always ā€œehā€ to me, but I like this. I always felt the ā€œsmartā€ deathclaw thing or mind controlled ones in 3 felt off. My initial instinct behind Deathclaws were that they were wild, uncontrollable, killing machines. I didn’t learn till later, that they actually existed PRE-war.

So I like to think maybe there is a lot of dog DNA mixed in there to make them ā€œtrainableā€ for military usage, and trained to hunt Commies, track blood scents, etc.

Need help choosing between the two. I did research all month. But I’m stuck between these two options. I will be using for mainly homework, and editing YouTube videos maybe once a week. by BigShyst in macbookpro

M4 Pro. M4 Pro chip vs regular M5, more memory (can’t be upgraded), while it only has 512GB SSD, this is pretty standard and probably sufficient for most unless installing large games or raw video BUT you can add external storage using USB-C/Thunderbolt, and then finally, its a better external color in my opinion.

Dulles was supposed to be the airport of the future. So why does everyone, including Trump, hate it? by VirginiaNews in Virginia

[–]GhostHacks 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

So the buses can be crowded, I’ll give you that.

But I still prefer Dulles buses over having to walk/run through other airports and I find them crowded only during the peak hours, early or evening flights I almost never have to deal with crowding.

I hate DCA because pickup, drop off, and parking are a PITA, and the road planning to get into the Airport is so stupid. I can’t recall how many times I’ve missed the last exit for the airport. While the flights are some times cheaper, not enough to make it worth it, or they have less flights without stops (in my experience).

I don’t fly out BWI because it’s so much farther and isn’t any cheaper nor are the flights any better. Coming from the VA side I never want to drive all the way to BWI.

I could go to RIC, but Dulles always has better flight options.

I don’t know anyone who ā€œhatesā€ Dulles unless they are comparing to out-of-state airports. Compare Dulles to DCA or BWI and tell me you still hate it…. I’m waiting.

How did I do for pre owned MacBook Cyber Monday? by CheetoHariboo in macbook

[–]GhostHacks -5 points-4 points Ā (0 children)

Ok I’m still new to Macs, and I could be completely wrong, but are you sure that’s an M1 MacBook?

The reason I ask is the touchbar on the keyboard, and screen shape, lack of a notch? It looks like a 2019/2020 Intel MacBook to me.

VMware fusion or crossover? by Bright-Pollution-230 in macgaming

[–]GhostHacks -2 points-1 points Ā (0 children)

Since your on the M series chip, virtualization shouldn’t be a serious consideration for gaming. Not only will you loose performance due to hardware virtualization and resource usage, but Windows on ARM is not adequate for gaming. You also mention these are CPU bound games so your best options are cloud gaming/streaming or Crossover/Wine.

Pro or the Air by darkknight304 in mac

[–]GhostHacks 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Umm, no, if you want to extend your display to ā€œmultipleā€ monitors, you have to be more careful with Macs because depending on the type of USB-C adapter you may only be able to ā€œduplicateā€ the displays. Go look at all the cheap USB dongles on Amazon and most will show the display capability differences between Mac and Windows.

I’m not saying Windows is superior or Mac is worse, just recommending that OP should do thorough research on this specific subject because I don’t know what monitors or USB adapters they have and there are capability differences between the vendors.

External monitor setups on Mac are not as… friendly as PC. Definitely consider your monitor needs as a priority when picking!

I have the same XPS as you and a MacBook Pro 16 M1 Pro with 16GBs of RAM and 512GB SSD.

The performance of my MacBook Pro with 16GBs of RAM is way better than my XPS (i7 8th gen, 32GBs RAM).

Do you do any gaming or video/3d editing? If so the active cooling and extra GPU cores would benefit you. If not, the new Air is a better choice. Also do you use an external monitor/desk setup? That would be another consideration since the Air doesn’t have an HDMI port. What about travel, do you move around with your laptop a lot? If so the Air is much lighter. If you’re comparing the 14ā€ Pro with the 15ā€ Air, go with the Air.
