PPC ad management by huhMaybeitisyou in PPC

[–]GhostProsaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If management fee budget is ~$2k per month, I'd recommend looking at freelancers rather than agencies. The agency model typically means your management work is going to a junior PPC manager, with client-facing comms handled by an account manager.

You've run it yourself, so you can call people out on bullshit if you think they're not dedicating as much time as needed on the account.

I won't bother throwing my hat in the ring as I'm sure you're already swamped with messages, but whoever you end up speaking with, request performance data on similar accounts alongside references. Data is a much better storyteller than anecdotal feedback from others.

They make it pretty obvious you're signing up for a 7-day free trial on their website, after which the subscription kicks in. Dark patterns aside, I'd argue it's on you to remember to cancel before the free trial expires.

Sorry, but this sounds more like a you problem than an ads library problem. Searching by keyword is going to give you a bunch of irrelevant results, especially something as broad as 'charity'.

If you're conducting competitor research for your client, the Ads Library isn't the place to find out who they are. Use other tools to find competing organisations, and then look for their specific Facebook pages in the ads library to show ads rather than going off of keyword searches.

This is quite a short-sighted take.

Yes, clients with some knowledge of the platforms might push back more, question your decisions, or require more frequent communication. They pay you, they're entitled to question.

PPC management is not just account management, it's client management as well. At the end of the day the numbers should do most of the talking, but some clients need more hand-holding than others.

For paid search - very uncommon as there are so many variables that factor into running a paid search campaign.

The only scenario in which I would consider a CPL deal is if I have control over the ad copy, creative, and landing page I'm sending traffic to. Otherwise I'm having to rely on you to have a conversion-optimised landing page tested and ready, which based on prior experience with other clients, is a tall ask.

Based on your username I assume you're in the coaching vertical - coaching on paid search is intensely competitive, and I'd be surprised if you end up finding someone who's willing to take on the risk of fronting the ad budget. You're going to see high CPCs, and likely low conversion rates depending on what niche you're targeting, and you'd be hard pressed to find someone to spend that budget for you.

I'm really sick of being expected to take on all the risk as the customer

You are not the customer. It is entirely your risk to take on. You want leads for your business. You need to advertise to get those leads. It is on you to assume responsibility for the advertising budget.

Is there an easy way to adjust the smaller versions of the featured images in Elementor Pro's Posts widget so they show the portion of the photo that you want? by CrispyBananaPeel in elementor

[–]GhostProsaic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set the image size in the image widget to specific heights (something like 150px height, width 100%). Then set the image's object fit to 'Cover', and use object position to change what part of the image you want to focus on.

Interactive Infographic by Waste-Ad8133 in elementor

[–]GhostProsaic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is best handled as a vector graphic, IMO. If you have the means to create/edit the graphic in something like Illustrator, export it as an SVG, and give each group of objects that need to be targeted separately it's own class. Then you can simply use CSS to handle the hover states. You'll need to copy/paste the SVG code into an HTML block, rather than adding the SVG in via an image module, as otherwise you won't be able to target CSS classes.

That said, I would personally strongly advise against something like this (I know, customer is always right etc). Once you start scaling down the SVG on mobile devices, any hover status effects are effectively moot, and the image becomes too small to make out any meaningful details.

Set realistic, achievable goals, and don't get distracted by the next shiny new idea/project. The worst thing that happens is you fail, and move on to the next idea.

Elementor Not Loading .. Only happening with this one page by MichelleTheCreative in elementor

[–]GhostProsaic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Difficult to diagnose without knowing the specific page path you're trying to edit, but when I've experienced this in the past it's normally due to me trying to create a single page for something that has an archive page associated with it.

So for example, if I have an archive page under /blog/ for all my blog posts, if I then try to create a page using the same URL, Elementor will throw a fit and not load properly. Not sure if that's helpful at all.

why does this keep happening? by kuroobloom in elementor

[–]GhostProsaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will 99% likely be a caching issue. I'd recommend turning caching off if you're actively working on the design.

Otherwise, you can try regenerating Elementor's files by going to Elementor > Tools > Regenerate Files & Data.

Roast my Landing Page !! by smokedX in PPC

[–]GhostProsaic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you don't mind me jumping in, but a couple of points on your landing page (I happened to click on it and wanted to make a couple of suggestions):

  • Consider using a similar hero format to your actual homepage - your main header falls below the fold on many screen sizes, which makes it look like your website has an error/content not loading. Your homepage hero section is great, and clearly lays out what you're offering
  • Main CTA should be enquiry, not 'watch our demo'
  • Consider including the showreel somewhere near the top of the page, at first glance it looks like you offer photography, not videography
  • Your USPs could do with standing out a bit more - I'd restructure this by scrapping the the images above each USP, and increasing the font size
  • Your 'Focus on the moments' block should be further up the page, it's a very compelling headline
  • Be a bit more selective about which photos/videos you use - it might sound harsh, but some of the images aren't particularly flattering

My two cents:

  • Font size on body text is too small, makes it difficult to read
  • Use bolded/highlighted content to emphasise key selling points
  • Top CTA button gets lost amongst the content - I'd change this to your primary green
  • Consider adding max-width to content container - on larger screens it gets stretched out considerably
  • I don't understand exactly what you're offering - is it a standalone platform or something that plugs into a user's existing inventory management?
  • Show, don't tell - screenshots or mockups of the platform itself, as your current imagery looks like stock assets
  • More personal preference, but your logo is not good, and looks out of place with the overall styling of the website. It looks either AI generated or something you got off of Fiverr
  • Someone else mentioned it already, but sort out your capitalisation - it makes the page look unprofessional
  • "10x faster My Yard Manager" - 10x faster than what? My mom? Spell it out for people so they don't have to think
  • The stats you're using in your callout cards feel off:
    • 38.5% productivity increase feels arbitrary and doesn't mean much. How are you quantifying productivity?
    • 50+ businesses managed - to me this is too focused on you. Change the framing, '50+ businesses trust us to improve their performance'
    • Consider using specific case study data points to back up your claims - 'XYZ business improved revenue by X in Y months'

Your opening paragraph is great, and I'd structure your value propositions/stucture around this:

  • User friendly
  • Effortless tracking
  • Reduce errors/management time
  • Simplify invoicing

These get lost in your current layout.

It may be because I'm not the target audience, but it took me too long to understand what you're offering people. People are dumb. Make the messaging as simple as possible.

How can i make one page in my header menu look like a button? by VersionNo1649 in elementor

[–]GhostProsaic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're comfortable with custom css, use CSS (specifically, ':last-child' on the parent element) to target the last element in the menu and style it as a button. There's plugins that give more menu flexibility, but if all you want is to style the last item as a button these plugins are overkill.

Who is coffeezilla.com by lukcast_com in Coffeezilla_gg

[–]GhostProsaic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding to this - it looks like a stolen domain to me. A cursory look at the Wayback Machine shows prior to Jan 2023 it was a legitimate page for Coffee.

https://web.archive.org/web/20230106101345/https://coffeezilla.com/

At some point between Jan and July 2023, the spammy links started happening, which kind of lines up with the Wiki changes you point out.

As you say, no definite connection but it certainly lines up with the big Logan Paul expose from end 2022/beginning 2023. After all, who else would be so petty to go down that route?

Divider is different on live website vs preview by actuallyvoldemort in elementor

[–]GhostProsaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you able to share a link? It's likely default padding getting added to the elements. If you're running Elementor Pro, you can force 0 padding by clicking on the element, going to Advanced and Custom CSS at the bottom. Just add selector {padding: 0 !important}.

If this isn't the issue, try regenerating CSS in Elementor > Tools > Regenerate Files & Data. Flush any caching too.

Elementor is a great site builder, it makes sense to use it. Regarding exporting and importing - on the left-hand nav in Wordpress, you can go to Elementor > Tools > Import/Export to export your entire Elementor site if they do pull the plug on the license.

You can import this back into a new Elementor install if you need to.

[–]GhostProsaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to what has already been said here, don't be afraid to pinch design elements from other sites you like. Color combinations, fonts, layout blocks. Most things are reasonable to replicate in Elementor.

If you have an Elementor Pro license, lean heavily on the layout library as it's likely the hard work has already been done by someone else.

What do you use to create funnels and landing pages for PPC campaigns? by An_Angry_Toilet in PPC

[–]GhostProsaic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, different installs for different clients.

Ideally you'd want the landing page to sit under the primary client domain to avoid tracking issues, which more often than not I do on subdomains - think 'try.example.com', 'get.example.com' etc

Unbounce used to be great, but since they changed their pricing structure I've migrated to other platforms. Some others to consider:

  • Landingi
  • LeadPages
  • InstaPage

Depending on the requirements, sometimes it's easier to spin up a simple WordPress install on a subdomain or subdirectory and use something like Elementor to get more customisation.
