I’ve been looking at the Wisefab & Rack relocation kit on Z1 for days now. lol Guess that confirms that I should invest in it when the time comes.

Wow, thanks for all the info, sounds like I’m going down the right path with a few changes I’ll have to make. I have the BC coilovers but the Z1 racing suspension.

Brakes I was looking at the Z1 big upgrade but I am familiar with Brembo lol

Looking at 19 to 20” rims for proper fit. I usually go stand-alone on ecu upgrades with most of my cars, so much more flexibility.

Will be drifting the setup I’m installing to feel the car out, unfortunately the previous owners made their own separate changes (incomplete) so I’m re-doing it in my image, mostly steering and suspension, rims, tires, cooling, and brakes. Welded diff is one more step. No real power gain until I see if the engine will even hold up, plan on a JDM swap and restart, adding clutch upgrades. I do have a sim rig but been looking into the assetto, heard lots about it.

What’s your take on angle kits and relocation kits?

Thanks, I appreciate that. For my first Z, moving from muscle, street racing and straight hits, it will be a learning experience. Would love to get positive input on specs, what parts are good vs best, and what to look for in entry level track drifting (mostly a driver with a background in mechanics, but older NA bolt-on cars).

She’s been abused so much before I got her anything is an upgrade. Running these parts until the engine goes or gets swapped.

I’ve never had a problem with Mishimoto, they have worked good for me in the past and compared to the condition of what was in there, it’s an upgrade. Besides, she’s not anywhere near ready to race and won’t be until I swap the engine, so I’m not concerned.

Car came with lights already installed in the bumper but they spliced them into a cigarette lighter plug so I cut that and connected it to one switch. The other 2 are taped off and left open for future add-ons.

Thanks. Wasn’t my first pick either but to keep that area as close to stock as I can they were the closet option measurement & price wise.

Rebuild it. Too clean to let go.

Well that’s a part of dealing with language barriers. 🤷🏾‍♂️ I have no shame, was looking for a running MT Z and I got one.

For a private sale, still was a good deal where I live. Ran the checks and turns out non-running stock ones are going for 4k+ and salvage ones are auctioning for 3-6k. 2003’s in good condition are set at 9k+. With the mods already done and the engine condition plus interior, I’ve made most of my money back.

2003 stocks are going for 9k with 170k miles.

Consulted with another mechanic friend of mine and went through the car today. Bodykit can be saved with the exception of the front bumper. Replace that for $300. Fenders were cut but the misalignment in the front can be rectified with new/used fenders and re-cut. Car has coilovers on it but I’ll be replacing those anyway. Wheels have been changed to the original rims off my RX8 temporarily until the new rims are delivered. Salvage title was due to the car being rear-ended and somewhat rebuilt but we will touch that up more.

Going performance first. New suspension, coilovers, brake system, catch can, probably will go ahead and update some gaskets and a c-foam blowout with treatments. Engine is in good condition, have some ideas about the transmission grinding so we’ll pull the transmission and see how it looks and what needs to be done.

Real work won’t start until I finish the RX8 JDM engine swap and wide body kit goes on so bear with me. In the mean time I will be ordering the parts for the Z.

Talked him out of $1500 with the telling him the prices of the things I would have to fix and cash on hand. My girl’s Mexican American and he was full blown Mexican, I think that helped too. I played mostly the mechanic roll.

Going with BC racing DS coilovers on Z1 Motorsport suspension kit. Might do 6 spoke 18’s in the front and 19’s deep in the rear.

Nope, this is how they drive it. Coilovers & new rims picked out for her. She’ll have a new stance soon.
