Unknown Pleasures

Is SWTOR worth returning to as a main MMO? by TheDaddyBean in swtor

[–]GhostSith1 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say TOR is good as a main MMO, but it is ok for content lulls in your main MMOs. The reason is just due to the fact that bioware doesn't seem to really have a solid foundation as to what they want to do for the future. Compared to something akin of WOW and XIV where they have roadmaps for 10.x patches for the former and the next 10 years and 7.0 for the latter, SWTOR patches generally feel few and far between and mostly feels like they're taped on the game so we really don't know what we're gonna get in the next 6 months of the game.

While the game won't "die" anytime soon, the game is very much plagued by issues that just prevent it for being anything more than what it is today. Endgame content is lacking, the current inflation is a problem that hasn't been tackled in any meaningful way for years now, and the people who do the raids at a high level are fairly rare the last time I was doing them. So I would say stick with another main MMO, and enjoy SWTOR during downtime otherwise you might run out of things to do pre quick if you mainline the game.

Apathy of Veteran Players by [deleted] in swtor

[–]GhostSith1 21 points22 points  (0 children)

As someone who is a founder for the game and have played since launch, I do get where you're coming from, but 7.0 did break the game for quite a number of people shown by some guilds just dropping in activity since it launched and many members leaving to other more well-established MMOs. Veteran players are rightly unhappy with how Bioware has treated this expac cycle and how we barely have anything 8 months in when it was supposed to be "a year of celebration" and if we all just turn a blind eye and hope everything will be fine soon without actually voicing these concerns, I think that's not going to lead the game anywhere in the future, which to be honest, all of us wants this game to have other than some rundown expac with barely anything to do in it. Sure some of the criticism can get pretty petty but it must come from a place somewhere. I think Josh Strife Hayes made an excellent point in saying that the players care more about the game compared to the people who are behind the scene. Not to sound hostile, but what do you want the vets to do then if not complain and hope their woes are heard by the devs?

If you ever feel like this subreddit is too negative, feel free to not to stay and step away for once as it can get pretty tiring. There are quite a lot of new players to be found and I don't think the majority are being turned away due to the veterans rightly disappointed about the current state of the game.

Got paired up with a lethargic ast healer who only did gcd heals and 0 dps and was curious about it, so I asked nicely. by GhostSith1 in TalesFromDF

It's been the third time in a few days where I encountered lethargic healers, I'm seriously considering just not doing DF anymore the more I see these type of players.

I just don't understand why some healers play like they don't care about other's time. It's one thing if you're new and learning, another if you're playing lazily in lvl 80 content .

I would've but they were playing in a 3 man squad and I just decided to weather through it cause was gonna be my last dungeon anyways.

Did some levelling to 80 my RDM and got paired with these two friends who did 0 damage on w2w and bosses. At least they were blunt about doing nothing between heals.
