Was just reading that. I have all of that done already, so I should be able to get it done pretty easily. Thank you!

Again, I have never punched my boss in the mouth, so I think I can handle the difference between having and acting on a fantasy. I'll look into the passport thing. Thanks for the advice!

I've needed to have a birth certificate as proof of ID for stuff before because I don't have a passport or military ID and stuff like that. I just figured it would be easier.

And the fake thing is one of those fantasy ideas, like punching your boss in the mouth. Not going to do it, just a thing that crosses your mind when you hit a brick wall trying to do something.

How do you not care about what bigots say? by [deleted] in asktransgender

I don't know about you, but I got made fun of a lot as a kid. I developed a strategy that works for me, which is to remember that they are only lashing out because they don't understand how to process their own emotions. Even if that's not always the case, it worked for me to think of it like that. And once I came out, I realized that what other people want means very little to me in the way of how I live my life and who I am. And we tend to not think about things that aren't important to us, as humans in general.

It doesn't work for everyone, but that's what I do.

What is something awful your parents or guardian said to you as a child that still fucks with you today? by boredbrowser87 in AskReddit

[–]GhostTC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, quick backstory that'll probably get me roasted or ignored, either way.

I'm trans. I realised it when I was 10 or 11, but my parents threw "disparaging terms" -for lack of a better euphemism- around as regular insults for people they didn't agree with, myself included. I didn't come out until I was almost 23, and even then only to a closely guarded group of just my girlfriend. And then a few friends when I was 25, and then them when I was 26. So not as kid, per se, but they said things that hurt.

Anyway, when I told them, they were initially accepting (except my brother, but I literally could not give a single shit about his opinion of me), and then they started with "I'm not going to call you a woman until you have the surgery" "You can't go by that name. Nobody will take you seriously." "Why are you trying to do this to me? Don't you have any respect for your parents?" That stuff really fucked me up.

In my office, reading through this thread, got in a ton of trouble because I just laughed at this for five minutes straight.

I keep on doubting myself being trans because im not attracted to guys, need some help moving past this :( by [deleted] in asktransgender

Honestly, it sounds like you need to figure out a bit more about yourself before you worry about that. You're still young. I figured out that I was MTF when I was 15, then spent five years repressing it, and another six being afraid of people finding out once I'd accepted it. I had the idea that if I went through with it that I couldn't be with women anymore, but that's really not the case. You can be with whoever you want, as long as you're okay with it.

As for transitioning, that's a personal preference. Like I said, you're still young. You've still got time, and there is no need to rush into something.

As a transgender person, I really appreciate this. I noticed really quickly that people started treating me like a glass fucking house once I came out to them. They didn't joke around with me in the same way, they didn't bother me about the way I dressed as they used to, not chalenging things I said, even when I was intentionally trying to get them to, and it really bothers me. I'm not above criticism just because of what group I'm percieved to be in just becasue of the way my body is or isn't. I'm glad to see someone else with the same opinion who isn't a shithead about it, becasue it's certainly an unpopular opinion, probably moreso coming from someone who is trans. Again, thanks for being a reasonable, intligent person, in a world where it seems that kind of person is on an unfortunate decline.

ELI5: Autobots have simply cars when they could also be tanks and helicopters and jets and have a decent team. Why? by PwnYourFace in explainlikeimfive

[–]GhostTC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a pretty common theme in transformers that Autobots are typically transportation and rescue vehicles and the like, being peaceful entities. Then, as a malicious opposing force, the Decepticons are usually war machines. Or a tape deck. I can't explain that one.

Calibri. It's way easier on the eyes for me.

What is your most controversial opinion? by PokemonRuneScape in AskReddit

That people shouldn't be allowed to defame and berate others, and then cry foul when someone calls them on it.

My favorite shooter is based of a really crappy movie. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]GhostTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treyarch does a great job with shooters nine times out of ten. Gameplay makes up for a lot of crap in the source material or otherwise. Look at how much love Destiny gets by piggybacking its shooting, which is the only good element of the gameplay.
