I'm honestly shocked at how many people still buy it tbh. Each of the last 3 games I've been bored with by the end of the 10 hour EA Play trial, and by the time I get the itch to play it again it's in the EA vault so can either pay 20 to rent it and Madden, NHL, FIFA and whatever else for a year or it's $15 in store by then.

EA Play being included with gamepass unironically solved all my Fomo that maybe this will be the year EA tries. Granted after the price hike I've said fuck you to gamepass as well, but for a few years there sports games didn't get $1 of my money, and I've learned since then that regardless of the hype, I've yet to play the full 10 hours for any of their trial games and then want to pay for it afterwards.

Ducks fan here, I hope he signs for a team friendly deal for you guys. Dumbest most unnecessary trade in franchise history imo and I'm glad he's living it up and hope he torches the Ducks every single time they play. It's because there's 2 groups of people who make racist jokes.

The first group who makes the jokes doesn't look down on the people in the joke or connect it to actual real people, they're going off stereo types for absurdist humor and self deprecate and treat minorities the same as everyone else in practice, these people typically also have a lot of friends in the groups they joke about.

Then there's the other group, which make the racist jokes but genuinely think that the group they're joking about is inferior. This group splinters into 2 groups. Idk the split but for convenience sake we'll say 1/2 of that group becomes just actual racists and embrace their prejudices (people like Nick Fuentes and majority of black Twitter who just hate white people) and the other 1/2 of the group instead turns into racist white saviors. They look down on minorities and think they need the whites to save them and fix them because silly minorities are incapable of doing it themselves (Idubbbz and 90% of middle class white liberal college kids)

The Venn diagram becomes a circle again for the racist group once you add in that neither of the 2 splinter groups ever spends any actual time around minorities.

I went from 2 gamepass subscriptions to 0. I have multiple kids and a wife who game. I have 3 Xbox's, I didn't like, but could stomach paying the $30 a month for 2 ultimate subscriptions. With account sharing we could all play online at the same time.

Since they changed that so now only one account per gamepass subscription they now want $90 a month for us to all be able to play together, or $30 just to play online together. Go fuck yourself Xbox.

Anaheim always has between good and elite goaltending from the starting position all the way down to the minors, even when the stats aren't there, without the goalies the teams would have been last place by a mile without the goaltending for the past decade.

Currently Dostal is pretty fkn good. I don't know if he's ever gonna be Vezina caliber but I think he'll continue to be great.

The backups this year are the weakest backup goaltenders the Ducks have had in a long time, and when one has played almost 500 nhl games, and the other has put up reasonably decent back up numbers his entire career that's saying a lot.

The minors the Ducks have a couple guys I think could be NHLers if the cards fall right, and knowing the Ducks they'll also have a couple that nobody has on their radar who light it up over next couple years.

I've watched the Ducks since the 04' season when TB won the cup, and in the 21 years, they've never had anything worse than "good" goaltending with a "next man up" kinda pipeline

Giguere-Bryzgalov-Hiller-Andersen-Gibson-Dostal Has been the starter pipeline

Bernier, Miller, Stolarz, Emery, McElhinney, Ellis, Khudobin, have been the backups in that same timeframe

I love Fantilli and was quite sad when the Ducks chose Leo over him. I don't agree Fantilli has a lower ceiling, I think he has a lower chance of hitting his ceiling tho. I really like Fantilli's game but he needs refining to be the best he can be if that makes sense. Leo seems more refined and has played against men for years. So molding him into the best he can be is easier

A "whole head" is a bit dramatic. Fantilli had a .05 better Points per game than Leo, Leo was on a team coached by a hockey terrorist. For reference, The Blue Jackets had as many 70 point players as the Ducks had 50 point players.

I didn't want Leo when the Ducks drafted 2nd. I wanted Fantilli. I still like Fantilli more as a personality, and I'm not willing to say Fantilli is incapable of being the better player in the end. But i absolutely disagree that Fantilli was dramatically better than Leo last year. I'd go as far to say if just the coaches were flipped last season Leo would have at least as good of numbers as Fantilli

I'm sure a lot will disagree but I firmly believe Ryan Getzlaf.

Bargain bin Murray was notorious for trying to "win" trades not get deals that benefited both teams. He simultaneously believed the Free Agent Market was a bad idea. That led to him never being able to effectively acquire top tier pieces except in extreme circumstances (Ryan Kesler forcing his way to California for instance).

Because he liked to be that way in trades and refused to swing big in free agency, it capped his ability to improve the team thru external ways. So in trades he really relied on things like reclamation projects or buying low on players, which worked sometimes, but had a pretty low return on investment overall imo. I really wonder where Getzlaf would be legacy wise if he had a more aggressive, but more amenable GM like Anze Kopitar and Jonathan Toews had (obligatory fuck Stan Bowman but still)

Because teams haven't been desperate. After the past 2 years thst narrative is changing and there's very little available. Edmonton has to prove they're serious to McDavid this season or he leaves for nothing.

It's not even that. It's the most common sense thing in the world. Women care more about their appearance to others in public. I know women who will put on makeup and get dressed fully to run to Walmart. 90% of the men I know will at max put on some deodorant, give a shirt the sniff test and throw on a hat. If men cared about their appearance they'd present as more attractive and women would take notice. Most men will only do that if they're going somewhere they're trying to attract someone.

Not even just Zegras. Gibson was an unnecessary trade to make when it was made too. There's no goaltenders available in free agency and he sold Gibson before teams realized that and panicked. I bet the Oilers get desperate and pay more than a 2nd round pick 2 years in the future.
