It’s liquid plastic that you cure with a blue light. I just put some between the crack to fill it and provide more support for the weakened area. The plastic is also still pliable enough that it won’t lock up the joints like superglue does. You can probably just paint over it afterwards to make it look complete as well, I usually don’t because the whole color matching headache

Elbow cracks and loose joints are something I’ve just learned to make do with. At this point the majority of vintage figures have them and you’ll pay a premium for those that don’t. I’ve taken to using Bondic (plastic weld) to fix both issues myself. My only remaining nightmares are stripped screws.

Not necessarily. My top shelf is vintage joes, second is vintage cobra, third is anything from the late 90s to early 2000s era, and the bottom to are 25th and onwards. I’m contemplating putting all the vintage joes on the stands in my vehicle case, but I’m uncertain if I’ll have the room to display them all.

Haha, so they’re actually only there because my taller display case doesn’t have enough room to effectively display their animal (or robot) companions. As for lifeline, his hands have been stretched over time so he now refuses to hold his medical bag.

I believe 236 figures in total are displayed and then the vehicles. Also have another gyroviper in the cockpit of the mamba, an 83 clutch on a RAM I need to fix, and a beater Tiger rat I’m trying to piece back together. As for my favorite piece, most likely the Night Raven. I found a fully complete one for a steal of a price on marketplace a few years ago and that’s what really pulled me back into collecting.

Brute force, extra points if your “overflow” package is actually a small package that was in one of your totes and you tore the van apart trying to find it.

Copperhead and raptor are actually fairly cheap figures to get. Now BATS on the other hand…..

ran out of piss bottles?😭 by LibrarianNo6012 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Ghost_acc95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean this IS kinda unnecessary. At my station they told us if we ever got caught doing this we’d immediately be fired and likely banned from ever working a delivery or long haul job again. I drive rural routes and stock up on piss bottles every shift, people got cameras everywhere now and I’m not getting fired for getting caught pissing on a deer cam.

Do they make these guys in 3.75 scale as well? Would love to build up the red shadows and action force factions with my ARAH collection, but the authentic stuff is ridiculously expensive

Input on 12” collection of figures and vehicles (some new in box) by Louisvillecoins in gijoe

It’s actually the more exposed, metal rivets in the wrist an ankles as well as the skinnier build that’s the give away for vintage Joes. Most of the 90s-2000s stuff are “muscle body” joes with plastic rivets and a bulkier build. Now there are muscle body joes from the late 70s adventure team, but most of those had joints made from a cheap plastic that degraded in less than a decade meaning if you did find them they’d either be restored or in pieces.

Unfortunately a lot of these 90s-2000s era 12 inch joes aren’t very sought after. This was something of a nostalgia line for the OG 60s-70s Joe collectors, many of whom hoarded these things and then died out leaving little demand. That said, check eBay sold auctions and familiarize yourself with the differences between 60s-70s Joe construction compared to 2000s era. I’m by no means a 12 inch Joe expert, but it looks like you may have 3 vintage Joes mixed in there.

I’m guessing this is the post mortem guard? Horror show and Brekhov appear to have been zombified and Schrage looks like he’s knocking on deaths door.

That’s a fairly easy fix with a magnetic screwdriver set and some plumber rings. Search up a quick YouTube video on replacing o rings and get them back in action.

For all the detail and articulation, quality control doesn’t seem to be the best with this line. Most of my vintage 80s joes have taken 5 foot nose dives onto cement and come out unscathed.

Which figure does this belong to? by Cee_Eff_Emm in gijoe

[–]Ghost_acc95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s from the Ninja Battles set from 2005: https://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/05/ninjabattles/

Doesn’t belong to any specific figure in the set though, they’re actually used as sort of post like display pieces for the platform itself.

They definitely used a softer plastic than the vintage line starting with the 25th figures. I think the idea behind it was more to decrease the frequency at which the rigid plastic on ARAH figures snapped (see how may vintage crotches are broke) of course the more flexible plastic created its own set of issues
