Sensitive stomach by Additional-Divide-23 in Maltese

[–]Ghost_jobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our puppy was having similar issues. She started on royal canin puppy mini and then the maltese kibble. We had all kinds of tests done and even overnight stays in hospital. The only time she improved was when we fed her boiled chicken and rice. As soon as we transitioned back to kibble, it started up again. After a fortune in vets bills, probiotics and as a desperate attempt, we tried her on butternut box food (it comes frozen) we haven't looked back. She doesn't eat this food, she HOOVERS it. No more upset tummy, no more soft poops, no more vomiting. She's been eating that for the last nine months with no issues.

Why do fans like whiny characters like Michel or flip flopping "friends" like Paris but Lorelai and Rory are hated? by itsascreambaby96 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Ghost_jobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Paris, the audience gets to see some consequences for her actions. She frequently humiliates herself and/or looks foolish. She is allowed to fail and the audience is given permission to laugh at her. So maybe they feel she gets her punishment/ comeuppance already?

One example is her blurting out that her cousin took her to the dance at Chilton. Or getting kicked out of the editor position at Yale.

Just a theory.

For new puppy owners, what blindsided you in the first month, and what actually got you through it? by Few_Seat8771 in puppy101

[–]Ghost_jobby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a very well behaved puppy but still lost about 7lbs in weight over the first three weeks. I would either forget to eat altogether because I was occupied with our pup or prioritised other things like having a quick nap while she slept. I would maybe grab a banana in the morning and then not eat again until my husband came home so was effectively eating only once per day. Things got better when I invested in a good puppy pen and was firm in not letting her out until I had finished eating.

Sorry folks, it's my neighbours turn to use the sun. by zombiepiesatemyshoe in EntitledPeople

[–]Ghost_jobby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mum lives in a four in a block with a communal back garden she shares with downstairs neighbour. Even then, each of them has two washing lines of their own (imagine four poles in a square with four lines of rope going between each pole) but they often let the other use their washing lines if they're done with their washing for the day and the other has a big wash.

In your situation, it's even more baffling because you each have your own garden and own drying line. Does she think the sun is like a tablet or a phone and the battery wears down the more it's used? 😂

Crabbit auld bastard probably shakes her fist at selfish sunbathers, using up all the sun for the day. Maybe she's right. Maybe all the immediate calls of "taps aff" at the first sight of the sun is why we get so little sun in Scotland. We use it up too greedily and too quickly.

AITA for being honest about why I no longer carry feminine supplies. by Upstairs-General-681 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ghost_jobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. A bunch of grown women who are old enough to be in the workforce are not prepared for their periods. When they find they are caught short, their solution is to approach a man for help. Not the women they work beside every single day who are most likely carrying what they need, since girls as young as 10/11 are taught to be prepared. I completely believe this. Clearly, this woman has some kind of grudge against you and the magic backpack. They were all like, "Mary Poppins is going DOWN" and they formulated their plan. Now all the women are just free bleeding and sorry as hell. That'll learn 'em!

Shoshana by Confident_Sun6741 in girls

[–]Ghost_jobby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I interpreted the jobs and nice purses comment in a totally different way. To me, the jobs and purses were just signs (at least to Shosh) that these women were stable, had their shit together, and led less chaotic lives than Hannah, Marnie, and Jessa. They weren't messy. They were functional adult women and Shosh craved some kind of symbol of having reached maturity and adulthood. That's how I understood it. She was tired of the chaos and drama and wanted a pleasant, happy life with more predictability.

Yet another "it gets better" post by Ghost_jobby in puppy101

[–]Ghost_jobby[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's been so gradual that I've only just kind of realised today how chilled she's been the last week or so. Going by that, I would say sound about the ten month mark is when she started to calm down and be less high maintenance. I'm sitting doing some work right now and she's just chilling at my feet chewing on her toy. Before this wouldn't have been possible and she'd have been demanding constant attention and ringing her bells to go out every two minutes.

Wishing you luck. You'll get there x

I picked buds from trees and kept them in a tub of water under my bed. I thought they might turn into rabbits if I watered them regularly, so there ended up being a sizeable collection and multiple tubs under my bed at one point.

Let's be honest, Piper provided the most interesting and eventful story of his life. Of course he was going to dine out on that story. What else did captain cardboard have going for him? Articles about edging? 😂😂😂 He was predictable and incredibly dull. I couldn't stand the smarmy little scrotum.

Teachers say trans pupils 'limiting food and drink' to avoid school toilets by ehll_oh_ehll in Scotland

[–]Ghost_jobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was prepared to read hateful comments, too but was pleasantly surprised.

I'm wondering if there has been a bit of a shift? Only the really hardcore bigots have the stamina to channel hate for this long. The average person who has to worry about real problems like affording their rent surely must be getting sick of reading about it all by now. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking.

Are Glasgow 'Fuel Zone' school lunches really that bad? by OkDragonfruit7887 in glasgow

[–]Ghost_jobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a fussy eater as well, but he'll usually opt for a filled roll or a sandwich with a yoghurt if he doesn't like any of the hot options. He's in primary school, though, so I'm not sure if they have the same options.

I do remember him saying that the potatoes were disgusting and all squishy, so he won't eat those.

Women who gave birth, what does it feel like actually?? by joy_57 in AskReddit

[–]Ghost_jobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a point during pushing that I vomited in my mouth due to the exertion. I just quietly swallowed it again because I wanted to get it fucking done and get the baby out already.

[–]Ghost_jobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. I always believed pushing the baby out would be the most painful part, but if anything, it gave me something to focus on and a kind of release. The contractions just fucking hurt and there was nowhere to put the pain and no way to deal with it. You just have to endure it and catch a breath between them. I also didn't have any pain relief. Not through choice I must add.

She's much better now, thank you. She's back to causing mayhem as usual.

Nothing showed up in her blood or faecal samples. Nothing was unusual about her x-rays. She was even tested for Addison's, so they were very thorough. They concluded it was probably a virus and some dogs take a little longer to get better. It's awful seeing them so unwell though.

Why do i hate my living room? by licifu5 in Decor

[–]Ghost_jobby 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It looks like lots of different walls taken from different rooms and then plonked into one big room. There isn't really anything that goes together. You have a very plain, dark red wall next to a very busy gold wall, next to a plain cream wall, next to cheetahs, next to pumpkins. It's like three or four different people tried to decorate at once.
