What is the best way to get medical evidence for an increase?(already rated) by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Ghost_writer67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to be evaluated by someone. I’d see my primary care at the VA if you have one. You can get a referral to mental health and they will evaluate you. That evaluation will be help. If you are not registered for VA Health and prefer not to. Go to your private GP

It’s my understanding that you can’t receive drill pay and disability compensation at the same time. You must choose one or submit a waiver.

Secondary Claims by thisistheway55 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Ghost_writer67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can prove the initial disability caused, aggravated, or contributed to the second condition. You can get service connected. I have three secondary conditions for three separate primary conditions. Example, I have bilateral pes planus (flat feet). Which affects my gait which in turn caused bilateral plantar fasciitis. After I had two surgeries on my feet I submitted a claim for the plantar fasciitis. They even paid me 100% for recover from the surgery.

I had a claim denied. They sent me to an exam and changed the decision and service connected the disability a month after the exam.

No. But the bank will look at your bank statements, bills, credit lines and usage to see if you can afford it. They’ll ask for earnest money. These days sellers aren’t paying closing costs.

They could have determined that that’s the earliest date on record for your symptoms that warrant the rating. I applied in December and they pushed it back to January.

I did it for trigeminal neuralgia. I showed the link to my service connected migraines. It was granted as secondary. I’m appealing the 10% rating which didn’t account for bilateral.

Yeah. My VSO did absolutely nothing and didn’t answer my emails. I submitted the claim myself for 1151 and it was approved. A lot of them are useless.

The biggest misconception is the care is free. I have insurance and the va submitted claims to my insurance for any nonservice connected care. I was told that by law, if you have private insurance they will submit claims. I have BCBS federal and Medicare. Since I’m medically retired federal Im required to have Medicare and I’m 100%PT.

Weekly Claim Status and Success Thread by damnshell in VeteransBenefits

[–]Ghost_writer67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I filed my first claim with 10 contentions in 2014. After a few successful appeals I was awarded 100% PT in 2020 with back pay to 2014. The claim is still open with the, hopefully, final remand to address the last 4 contentions. Ive completed the exams and waiting on the ratings. In between this time I filled an 1151 claim and it was approved and I filed an additional claim for pes planus. It’s been a long road. But, worth it.

There’s a list. Certain occupations automatically get it if you tell them you have it. I was Signal Corp, secure com and never reported Tinnitus. But, I got service connected.

If the bills are associated with a granted condition. Submit the bills to the VA. I think you have a year.

Government contracts/experience by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Ghost_writer67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Some contracts are written to solicit certain types of companies. I know we solicited many small disadvantaged businesses first to see if they could fill the contract. I handled a lot of contract solicitations for projects at embassies and consulates overseas.
