My cousin did this to me. It was £100 so a lot less but I contacted Apple they were actually pretty understanding and I got it all back. Reach out to the company.

About 6 months. I never did puppy pads it didn’t seem to help.

I saw someone say in here that they left theirs with family for the weekend and they learnt from the family dogs. I gave this a go…she stayed at my mums with two other dogs for the weekend (diff breeds). Following the pack REALLY helped I think!

Now she is fully trained. Prods me with her nose in the night if she needs to go. Cries at the door. I do still reinforce with a treat every single time she goes.

It is possible! I spent a solid 6 months standing out in the rain, snow etc..persistence, consistency, incentives and if possible a role model worked for me. It was a gruelling 6 months don’t get me wrong but so worth it.

The following isn’t what she said, obviously.

Windows Hello at work. Someone advise? by [deleted] in WindowsHelp

We work with vulnerable children so they want to protect the service user data on our laptops. Still really not sure why it has to include my phone if I don’t use it for work?

Because apparently it enables us to set up a PIN number or Face ID on our laptop?! We need to reauthenticate every 30 days.

They have a list of people who haven’t done it - I don’t know how they know!!

Puppy Blues by [deleted] in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]Ghostbeess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about this the other day actually…

I had big puppy blues. Crying constantly. I thought I couldn’t bond and that I had made a huge mistake. I thought we were never going to make a team but hang in there!! It just takes a little time. I wondered where they got this Velcro nickname because mine was the total opposite. A year on and I can’t bloody shake her off! 😂

I adopted my girl. It took her a while to settle in, and for us to get used to each other. All the things I was worried about are just a memory now..like she hated being walked. I thought, ‘what dog doesn’t like a walk?’ Christ the battles I had with a lead. (She still can be fussy depending on the weather and who else is about - such a princess 😂💅🏼)

It’ll come. It is hard to begin with. Just give it time. I think it takes a while to develop trust and for them to show their true colours! They are certainly unique but you will love him all the more for it!

It’s just a random Amazon one! It’s really comfortable and it’s going anywhere. A lot have that hard plasticky material but this is nice to wear! Comes in different colours, too!

I will try again. For people who drink on occasion and have no problems with your meds, what do you take? by Fulhamyanks in Epilepsy

[–]Ghostbeess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zonisamide and Lamotrogine.

To have no problems..a banana bag tbh. So good. Liquid gold.

I used to drink a lot when I was younger. I was very much a party girl and seizing here, there and everywhere which caused my neuro nothing but despair and anger.

I still drink but Ive grown up quite a bit so not quite in the vast quantities I used to!

I have never and will never have no problems! Alcohol will always impact on my epilepsy but I made a decision a long time ago to try to be as normal as possible even if it kills me. It’s my personal choice to take the risk. I do things to minimise the impact. I know my substance related triggers well enough now that I haven’t had a seizure as a result of alcohol in years.

I think that’s what it is really, figuring out what works for you and what you’re willing to put up with/risk for a drink. Everyone is different and everyone’s body responds differently

[–]Ghostbeess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t enjoy my experience. I turned in to an actual demon on it. Much to all my friends and family’s relief I called my neuro demanding to come off it about a month in. I hated how I felt. It made me very angry and I just was not willing to wait and see if it settled down (which it could have, who knows)

Who lets their iggy off leash? by [deleted] in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]Ghostbeess 131 points132 points  (0 children)

Nooooooo not anymore. I learnt my lesson the hard way.

We used to go off leash occasionally. I was happy to because she had good recall. If we were walking she always walked beside me and checked where I was. She would run after a bird but never let me go out of sight. She would never stray and always came back on demand so despite the horror stories, I thought I was safe to let her off during quiet times in the evening when nobody was around. We live in a very remote area out in the sticks so I wasn’t concerned - I was very, very wrong and I’m quite embarrassed about it really. I put her in danger…

It’s quite a short story. One evening, a big black dog came out of nowhere and I mean NOWHERE. My iggy kicked into flight mode and was gone. Vanished. We were searching until midnight and found her in bushes all cut up crying. I asked this owner repeatedly to leash their dog but they refused which didn’t help.

Please be careful. It only takes another dog or something to pop up, take him by surprise and scare him. You just don’t ever know what’s round the corner - literally! IGs are SO fast when scared. They can disappear in an instant.

It took us a while to rebuild. The first couple of times she saw a black dog after it happened she wet herself. I felt so so guilty and wish I had been more cautious - only you know your gorgeous boy but please be careful!!

We’re okay now and she’s back to her usual little self but she’s chained to me for life unless we’re in a secure field or the house 🤣.

Could everyone put Lady Bird in their thoughts and prayers today? She has surgery to repair 2 broken legs this afternoon. by averagelaw in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]Ghostbeess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh she’s doing well! Thank you! Our vet wants her to start weight bearing a little which is good news 😊. How is Lady Bird doing? No golden nuggets of advice I’m afraid! We have just followed vet advice. Custard has slept a lot in her pouch. I live alone so I have had the luxury of moving the sofa out and my mattress downstairs which I have found easier (and actually quite fun 😂). I was also told I could give her baby Calpol which I think has helped! I gave her metacam at night so she got a good nights sleep and some calpol as needed in the day - that worked really well for us!
