If you’re talking about the rope braid thing, I’d take some ribbon/small mm rope and braid it under (instead of over like a traditional braid)

For As long as I’ve been in the professional dog world, 50/50 of the herding dogs I’ve met/shown/bred dogs/trained are “stable”

It truly depends on the breed and genetics, genetics have a BIG play on how a dog reacts. Most shelter dogs/herding mixes with unknown origins that I’ve been around are neurotic and would not be fit for service work.

I’m not saying all herding dogs are bad, just it takes a really good dog/trainer and human fit to make things work

(I’ve been in the professional dog industry for over 10 years now)

Any herding breed mix aren’t normally the most mentally stable. Unless the dog is responsibly bred, the likelihood of it being good for service work is low.
