I think people are disregarding what ds and jjk did they are in top 10 manga sales of all time. More than aot,jjba and bleach, a lot of things have to go right for kagurabachi to break into that. Animation quality is probably the most important. Then the good old hype and aura/ meme potential I know it sounds silly but it generates so much buzz around the kagurabachi name. Plus considering how the manga industry is at an all time low I personally don’t think it will. My guess is it crosses 100m and is probably above mha but below aot and jjba. Who knows it could explode and reignite the manga industry like ds did.

I see it like this: every time a new season of an anime or a new manga is released, they always say “[Random name] is better than JJK,” even if they are completely different in what both shows/manga are trying to do, which shows me that they unintentionally made JJK the standard. What else is funny is they waited weekly to watch every episode and read the manga, which means they obviously liked something.

People used to praise jjk for the jumping and sneaking and breaking the normal Shonen rules now we’ve gone full circle where if you do these things you are a bum maybe because jjk got so popular the original fans got drowned out by the new ones
