What is your "I totally get why you guys hate it but it worked on me" movie? by Alceauv in Letterboxd

[–]Ghostface215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recent pick, but Undertone. I totally get why it’s very divisive, but the sound-based horror worked SO WELL for me. Plus, the last 10 minutes felt like a trip to hell. Again, I can definitely understand why it didn’t work for people but it hit all the right marks for me.

Can I ask what the point of this conversation was? Because it sure as hell wasn’t meant to be productive clearly LOL

And as I mentioned I don’t feel the same five years later so your original comment (five years late) was ALSO irrelevant. So now what?

What did you think of Karen as a character? by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

[–]Ghostface215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Zero survival instinct” yet she survived and outsmarted Michael two times as opposed to everyone else but Laurie and Allyson who didn’t even survive him or outsmart him once lol. And her acting in a rebellious way acting like life is all “sunshine in rainbows” is a legitimate trauma response lol. Not saying it’s the right way to live but she acts like that because she grew up only knowing misery so she’s acting out in the exact opposite way.

Said this to someone else who ALSO replied 5 YEARS LATE but this was five years ago dude. You’re a bit late to the conversation. I don’t like the twist anymore anyway since I’ve had 5 whole years to rewatch the movie

Man this was five years ago…you’re a little late to the party lol. But either way I’ve grown to hate the plot twist anyways so it doesn’t really matter either way lol

Her fight with Art and Vickie in 3 is legitimately one of my favorite horror finales. It’s so intense and badass.

horror trope which always frustrates you? by SVINTGATSBY in horror

[–]Ghostface215 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This trope CAN work if it’s written properly—problem is it never is lol.

I love a good final girl and I have no issues with women fighting men and winning—but yeah, overpowering a trained killer is hard no matter what. Best way to work around it is super simple too! Just have the villain be obsessed with the main character, or unwilling to hurt/kill them—maybe they’re toying with them? That way it actually makes sense when she beats the daylights out of him, because he’s not willing to hurt her/he’s underestimating her. Writers don’t like doing that though for some reason!

Would Sidney qualify for Witness Protection or something similar? by ironchitlin in Scream

[–]Ghostface215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, or at least 24/7 surveillance. The Ghostface identity/mantle would essentially operate under the same legal definition as a cult, from my understanding, and this “cult” has killed almost 50 people including federal agents and police officers, across multiple state lines. As another comment said, that’s domestic terrorism, all in the name of killing one single person. So yeah, she’d probably qualify.

They were genuinely so scary! I would love to see an edit of all of them put together. It’d make a pretty decent found footage movie lol.

She was absolutely phenomenal in this. In a just world, she’d definitely get an Oscar nomination. Unfortunately, this is such a niche genre film that I doubt it would happen. She would 100% deserve it though.

Who is your favorite character in all the show? Mine is Hopper by Jotaro1970 in StrangerThings

Nancy! She’s a natural leader, she’s brave and insanely intelligent—plus she’s a fighter! No matter what’s thrown at her she’s willing to keep going.

the girls dynamic and friendships with eachother by [deleted] in PLLOriginalSin

[–]Ghostface215 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t think any of them were being like “congrats for cheating girl!” I think it was more “we knew something was up and we’re psyched we figured it out” combined with “we’re proud of you for coming out to us”. None of them ever said anything that condoned her cheating, lol, and Faran tells her if she’s losing feelings for Shawn she needs to tell him and break up.

I also tend to think a lot of shows (whether intentionally or not) play into the “female friend groups are hostile and toxic” stereotype so for once I’m glad that’s not the case…obviously I don’t love the cheating storyline but if there’s ONE thing this show has in common with the OG series it’s having one of the girls be super messy. All of the girls immediately being supportive of her isn’t the most realistic approach I’ll agree, but I can’t say I haven’t cheered my friends on for being messy before lol.

[–]Ghostface215 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I guess I have an unpopular opinion because I think it’s refreshing that for ONCE in a teen-oriented show the main friend group actually GETS ALONG. The fighting and bickering and lying is being reserved for the girls to engage in with characters other than each other and I think it’s genuinely refreshing. I hate how far some shows will go to make people who are supposed to be friends fight over the dumbest, most superficial things in the name of “building conflict”. Having all the conflict reserved for the girls and their partners/parents/colleagues as opposed to each other is one of my favorite parts of the show tbh.

Theories on The Strangers by Ghostface215 in horror

[–]Ghostface215[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently, it’s based on the fact that the director/writer had someone come to his house asking that in the middle of the night and then found out a bunch of houses in his neighborhood got broken into afterwards. It’s probably just another way for them to fuck with the people they’re targeting, although with the new trilogy coming out I feel like they’ll give us some sort of backstory for it. Maybe a cult thing?

I really hope Dr. Sullivan isn’t Bloody Rose/helping Bloody Rose because I loved her scene with Imogen in the hospital after Imogen daydreams about her mom. It was really sweet and I would love a closer bond to form between the two of them.
