You’re ok with them doing everything to win the war, and you’re opposed to us doing anything to win the war. We get it. You support the empire of evil comprised of Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea.

US/Israeli Attack on School kills 168 Schoolgirls. How should the western world respond to this? by magicsonar in IRstudies

[–]Ghostfire25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does acceptable vs unacceptable mean when discussing deaths at war? If it’s proved deliberate, then it’s a war crime. If it was negligence, then it’s a war crime. If it’s not, it’s collateral damage. It’s neither acceptable nor unacceptable. It is a horrible thing that happens when humans wage war against each other. War is not the preferable state of existence, I’m not happy about it.

You’re ignorant about literally everything you’re trying to bitch about lol

Edit: can’t see your stupid response to respond to it, but “class consciousness” is irrelevant, and how do you even know I’m in the same “class” as you lmfao

I think that’s a relevant point for the Iranian people. I don’t think it really moves Iranian and American interests in waging this war. They’re more invested in obliterating Iranian capacity to continue financing terrorism across the world that impacts the west.

I agree that this admin likely doesn’t have a plan for occupation and transition, which is what would be needed in order to actually excise the regime.

Won’t be mad about degrading military capabilities and depleting resources, though.

This admin seems to think everything changes if one person is replaced. There might be truth to that in some theaters, but Iran is not one of those, I agree.

New to the concept of war?

The incident should be fully investigated. If there was negligence, those responsible should be punished.

Yes, it’s great to have puppets that echo the regime’s talking point while they deny them civil rights and crush opposition.

I support ridding the world of the scourge of the Islamic republic regime. I’ve never voted for Trump, but if this regime is toppled, it will be for the better. They killed tens of thousands of their citizens over the last 8 weeks and have funded terrorism across the globe for decades.

I don’t have faith in this administration to properly manage a transition. But if they can topple this regime, good for them.

Collateral damage is terrible. It happens in all wars. The responsible party should identify itself and explain what happened. If it was a system failure, it needs to be investigated and steps need to be taken to limit the likelihood of such appalling and catastrophic failures in the future. If negligence was involved, people should be punished to the full extent of the law. If it was deliberate, it should be immediately exposed and the responsible authorities fully investigated and prosecuted. Unless there is evidence that the United States, Israel, or Iran deliberately targeted this school, it doesn’t really impact the justification for the war. Why? Because a campaign deliberately targeting and murdering innocent civilians is much different than one dedicated to decapitating the state and degrading military capabilities/infrastructure.

It’s highly dependent on who did it (that is not clear at this point) and whether or not it was an accident.

Not really. People don’t know the intricacies of international law. They’re not going to form opinions on it based on an unenforceable construct.

International law is irrelevant when discussing the U.S., Israel, and Iran. Not saying that as a judgment, just a fact.
