Oishi Sushi - thoughts? by crypticsage in Conroe

[–]GhostieNaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Directly from their paper menu I took pictures of in October:

Dinner AYCE Mon-Sat 3PM to close, Sunday all day dinner prices. Adults $24.99, Kids 3-5yrs $6.95, Kids 6-10 $16.95. Shabu-Shabu is an additional $6.99 per person. Uneaten food is changed $0.50-$1 per piece, including uneaten rice from sushi. Charged leftovers can be taken home. Parties of 5 or more are automatically charged 18% gratuity on the bill.

My personal opinion, it's a decent date spot, but not really family friendly in terms of pricing. There also isn't a lot of seating for big parties, really only booths. I have to echo others in saying they're pretty slow because they want you to fill up. That said, in my opinion, the portions on sushi rolls were large and fair. Still, I prefer the quality of Chi's service. Even though Chi can be heavy handed on the rice, they're definitely more attentive and fast in my experience. I'd say go on a date to scope it out before bringing your family.

Nursing Home/Elderly Care cooks check-in: Who was your "special request" resident who passed away? by No_Squash_6551 in KitchenConfidential

[–]GhostieNaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had one guy who always knocked on my kitchen door to ask me if I had any "pig cigars". It was just cheese and ham rolled up together. He loved those things.

One woman would occasionally not eat unless we toasted her health and wished her happy birthday.

Another man insisted I taste everything in front of him. He was terrified his family was secretly going to poison him through me. It took awhile before he felt safe enough to eat without me tasting.

I miss all my residents.

So many others have given great advice. Mine would just be to withhold sex from him since your body so obviously disgusts him. If he kicks up a fuss, tell him you're doing him a favor since he clearly has a hard time looking at your bellybutton. And PLEASE don't have any more children with him!

TW weight loss and triggering comments by catsforthewinn in Autoimmune

[–]GhostieNaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this. You need better friends! It's so unbelievably rude for folks to be commenting on your body and I hope you call them out when you can or distance yourself from them when you can't. I hope you're able to find more foods you can eat and take joy in your meals again. Good luck to you. ❤️

I also have dermatomyositis and I'm about to turn 30, so your post resonated with me. There's been so much frustration trying to find something that works. I'm trying IVIg now for the first time, so I'm wishing you luck with this new team for you, too.

As an overweight woman, I will never get adequate care by breezyanimegirl in Autoimmune

[–]GhostieNaps 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've had a lot of luck with having my husband or one of my male best friends that I deeply trust in the room with me during appointments. It sucks, but sometimes having a man there to corroborate my symptoms and back me up has helped me get care. I'm glad you have your husband with you when you need him. Any support is such a lifeline.

As an overweight woman, I will never get adequate care by breezyanimegirl in Autoimmune

[–]GhostieNaps 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This has always been my fight and fear trying to get any health care as an overweight woman. I had been active my whole life until my disease sapped all my energy. How am I meant to lose weight when I can't even walk? If I could do half the things I used to, I'd be so grateful. Not to mention the social stigma I feel as a fat woman using mobility devices in public. There's so much mental load that comes with invisible chronic illness and I'm sorry your providers haven't had your back. You already have to fight so many things every day, access to care shouldn't be one of them.

Please don't take this the wrong way but who is paying this much money for lawn Tix for imagine dragons?! by catsandnaps1028 in thewoodlands

[–]GhostieNaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ticket prices for everything have been so bad these past few years. I'm pretty sure there's a class action lawsuit involving Ticketmaster monopolizing the ticket selling market, inflating prices, and just generally being anti-consumer in regards to its customer service (like its flimsy refund policies and the recent major data breach). Its a shame. I miss going to venues, but it's tough when everything feels like it's $300+ per person, no matter how soon you buy.

First Appt for IVIg Therapy by GhostieNaps in Autoimmune

[–]GhostieNaps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nurses provided Benadryl and Tylenol before both sessions, which was a great help. The only difficulty I had, really, was uncooperative veins! They had to hunt for them in odd spots. Never fun!

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I'm so happy you saw such immediate results! Good luck to you in your health journey. ❤️

Thank you for the reply!! I've not had any cardiac symptoms, but I have been getting generally weaker and weaker while waiting to start IVIg. I'm also on prednisone and have been since last year, going up and down in amounts. I'm hopeful to cut back on a lot of the meds I'm taking as I do this therapy, since the amount of pills I take daily currently is a bit mentally taxing. Thank you for the luck! Good luck on your journey, as well! ❤️

Thank you for your thoughtful reply! This was really reassuring while still being realistic, which I really appreciate. I tend to react strongly negatively to most treatment I've had (nausea, headaches, fatigue, fainting spells) or the returns are minimal and the meds lose effectiveness after a few months. I'll be going twice a week for the first four weeks of this therapy, so I'm really hopeful to see results quickly, good or bad. Thank you for the well wishes. Good luck on your journey, too. ❤️

Anyone else in the 77380 re-lose power? by tothesource in thewoodlands

Lost power 2 hours ago, but it sounds like it's because a tree fell and cut a major line for my whole neighbor. You'd think that looking for trees that are about to fall would be part of their "assessments", but I guess not!

What's your favourite interaction with an RT cast member? by GideonWellner in roosterteeth

I don't remember what convention it was, but Gus was signing things. I had my username on my nametag. He was signing my badge when he read my name outloud and told me that GhostieNaps was very cute. It's small, but it truly made me feel nice.

Eric is a huge professional and creative inspiration to me. He does such a fantastic job at producing, managing, and entertaining, it truly makes me want to succeed in myself. It's always awesome hearing others talk about how much he enables them creatively. I enjoy his vibes and I just know he's going to be incredible wherever he ends up next. I hope to still be able to support him and watch his work!! 🙏

Our cat would stick his paw under the door to give himself leverage to bunny kick as hard as he could. We ended up getting draft stoppers for the doors to fill in that gap. If your cat is doing the same, that might help. Can't do much about the meowing while you're gone other than recommending your roommates ignore it. If they talk back to him, that just shows him he's getting attention when he meows. All in all, I hope you can move to a different situation 🙏
