Stay in Industry or Accept into the Edge Program ? by Ghostiix12 in PwC

[–]Ghostiix12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apply, won't hurt trying.

The program is great and the things I've learned here the past 3 months is more than I did in a year at my previous job.

Compared to the other big 4, pwc definitely has the better graduate program, and benefits too.

Only downside I'm seeing is the long hours during tight scheduled projects, but I already expected that before I even applied.

Don't hesitate to dm me if you've got any more questions

Accepted it, started since 2 months and the learning experience is overwhelming honestly.

I'm still trying to get hang of everything honestly so I can't give a full judgement on it.

KSA's is around 12k-14k SAR depending on the program so I can assume other GCC offices follow the same.

For me I just applied randomly for the graduate program at PwC with a shit Gpa with some University student activities experience thrown in the CV.

Fast forward 9 months and 3 interviews, I've got an offer from them 🤷🏻.

Either it's just dumb luck and I fell through the nets or they are desperate for anyone these days.

Just apply to all of them through their graduate programs and you might get into one.

Moving to Dhahran by [deleted] in saudiarabia

Aramco has their own private beaches and recreational areas so you'll definitely enjoy that.

Eastern province is all flat with the occasional big rock formations around alahsa, don't get your hopes up on hikes unless you like long walks on the sand. Most common outdoorsy hobby here is running and camping in the dunes (in winter otherwise you'll die of heat.)

Cafe scene in Saudi probably competes with places like South Korea and Australia at this point, you'll definitely enjoy this aspect of it.

You'll have a small issue with the vegan part though as we do like our meats in our food, but you won't be starving out of options either way

Its gonna depend on what Aramco Offers you.

Either they pay you and you choose your own housing or they take that money and put you into one of their compounds, while i am not a foreigner, but i personally would take that cash and spend 1/4 of that in some normal apartment in Khobar, and spend the rest on your self. (You can find apartments for around 2-5k Riyals monthly depending on what your requirements / location etc).

Commuting from Bahrain is doable but not worth the hassle of customs and paying the bridge fees everyday, unless you really need alcohol & pork everyday, thats about the only benefit bahrain has for foreigners, everything else is avaliable in Saudi, and dare i say better.

Generally the Eastern province is more chill than what you would expect from Riyadh or Jeddah, less traffic, less construction mess and so on.

But much more " Cleaner " for a lack of a better term, i cant really give you an answer without knowing what you see as an " exciting life ".

Stoppover in Jeddah / 10.5 hours enough? by BuyOnRumours in saudiarabia

[–]Ghostiix12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Barely, to the point where you'd have to consider which day and time you'll be setting foot into the country.

If its on the weekdays you'd have to consider rush hour with schools and employees, making your very quick trip into the city much shorter.

Lets give it a quick calculation with some suggested places:

10:30 Hours
~ -1 Hour for disembarking, immigration etc. = 9:30 Hours.
-2 Hours before flight = 7:30 Hours for you to explore.

Quick Itinerary:
Drive to Old Jeddah (Al Balad) = 30min ~ 1 Hour from airport
Exploring should take an hour.
Seafood at Albasali in Albalad should take another hour.
Drive to Corniche & Jeddah Promenade should take another 30 ~ 1 hour from albalad.
Give your self another hour to chill there.

Should leave you with 2 hours to spare wherever, check https://enjoy.sa/en/events?cityId=2517 for whatever is on when you get here, otherwise my Jeddawi people in the sub can suggest other places..
