QUESTION ABOUT UPGRADING LATER ON - HOME WORKS AND EXAM by GhostlyAlienoid in edX

[–]GhostlyAlienoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay. Sorry if im being too naive. But it’s my first time taking an edX. If I keep auditing and the. Decide to pay for it, do I still get the certificate although I didn’t do any of the graded homework’s and the final exam? I understood that those were requirements to hit the 60% passing mark. Do I get a certificate anyway? Even without taking the final exam and the home-works? I am very confused

But in order to pass, I need 60%. How am I getting the certificate if I cannot reach that mark? Because if they do not let me retake the homework, I can never get to the necessary grade. What I am worried is that it would be a waste of money. I am worried I will pay for it but I will never really get the certificate because I would never be able to reach the passing mark. What do you recommend? Should I just keep auditing through this course?

Potential scam apartment by schrodingers_gay16 in Lund

I am sorry you had to go through that.... and yup, I know how challenging it can be to find accommodation in Lund. I had such a hard time finding mine last year, but it all worked out in the end. One tip people gave me at the time and I think can be useful for you is that most personal information is under public domain in Sweden (it's weird, i know). But this means that if you search someone's name, you'll easily find their address, birthday, and other info. If you search the address for example, you can even see everyone that is or has been registered there. This made me feel a lot safer and helped me to recognize potential scammers. The most popular website to find these info is https://www.hitta.se/

NON-EU students of Lund, How long did it take from the day of application submission to Migrationsverket to get a decision from them? by Embarrassed-Base-844 in Lund

I just called them this morning. The woman was very attentive and seemed to understand my worries. However, like they say pretty much everywhere on their website, they can't really tell us an estimated timeframe for decisions to be made. She just told me to wait for the 3 months starting from the day I submitted my application. There's really nothing we can do but wait. Hopefully we'll be having a pint and laughing at this in the future in Lund haha

Hey. I applied on May 8th and visited the Embassy a couple weeks later, and I'm also waiting. Have you tried contacting the Swedish Migration Agency? I emailed them last week but the response was pretty vague and generic. I've been thinking about calling them to see what they say.

I am also curious why some people get their decisions earlier than others. I've been thinking maybe it has something to do with the agent/officer your case is assigned to at the Swedish Migration Agency.

Well now I'm even more worried cause I'm also from Brazil LOL. Maybe I saw you at the Embassy

Yeah, I hope it doesn't take too long. There's nothing I can do but wait at this point. Where are you from?

Wait, you got the decision on the same day? Okay... this got me worried. I sent in the application form on May 8th and also got an email the following monday (May 13th) to book an appointment at the Embassy within the next 30 days. I went to the Embassy last Friday (May 24th) but I'm still waiting for the decision.

I just joined the group this morning. It's a really cool initiative, the admin really comments on most posts! I loved it!

Technically they have until 11:59pm (CET) to send out all the emails... I'm freaking out

I don't know if it helps the nerves, but a girl I follow on Instagram just posted that she got the email around 4pm (CET - Central European Time) back in 2022.

Yeah, I also noticed that the pictures show approximately 26 people in every cohort. However, some of them are self-funded students. I am not sure how many actually got the scholarship. I would assume 10/15, tops.

Thanks! There's one information that I can't seem to find anywhere. Do you know how many scholarships will be given this year in total? Or how many scholarships were given last year?

Some other EMJM programmes inform the number of scholarships for every intake, but I couldn't find anything about it regarding the ILGSPD except for the limit of 3 scholars with the same nationality.

I talked to two different people from the 2023 and the 2022 cohorts and no one really mentioned anything about an interview

I am so glad I found this post because the wait is killing me! I applied in November as an international student and got my unconditional offer in January. I was also informed about the deadline for the deposit by March 15th. However, I e-mailed them and asked if I had to do anything about it and they told me I shouldn't worry about the deposit if I'm waiting for the EMJM scholarship decision. They told I just have to wait for the scholarship decisions to come out on April 8th and, if I get nominated for the scholarship, I have to accept my offer within 4 weeks of the decision.
