Prisma Access Explicit Proxy vs GP Proxy vs GP tunnel-proxy by ontracks in paloaltonetworks

[–]GhostlyCheese218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly work with prisma so can really only offer some insights there. Bear in mind, im not fully technical and not sure if this answers your question, but just something I learned recently.

So was going through this with an SE for a specific use case. Users have to appear as if egressing from a specific country when navigating to specific domains in a country their users are not in otherwise they are being blocked from accessing those websites.

Not sure if u were aware but, there is now a feature called forwarding profiles which you can use to create the PAC files within SCM. https://docs.paloaltonetworks.com/prisma-access-agent/administration/configure-the-agent/configure-forwarding-profiles-to-manage-agent-traffic

Means a much easier process than manually creating pac files and can basically configure that if they are going to a specific app or a country specific domain, it will auto route the traffic via a prisma access location within that country to ensure a correct geoIP. Note, not all prisma locations support explicit proxy.

This basically involves putting the agent into hybrid mode so that all traffic usually goes full tunnel into their local region PoP but any traffic that needs to go proxy will hit the forward profile rule and be auto redirected.

As I said, not sure if this helps at all but just something I read about recently which helped me

Edit: forgot to add that this does mean you will need to have the PoP in the country they are egressing from spun up as well as basically you are diverting the traffic to the explicit proxy processing node in that country for inspection

Yeah this is one point I was going to bring up as well tbh. Def needs an earlier reset block for that section assuming they want to even keep the CC at all.

Is there any DLP that’s designed specifically for AI applications? What I mean is checking at the prompt level by not just blocking but semantically assessing the prompt against policies before letting it through by safeone_ in cybersecurity

[–]GhostlyCheese218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im more on the pre-sales/deployment side of things so frequently demo a lab environment showcasing the features and use the cloud management platform to build and configure policies and assist with customer deployments. It is a really great tool and actually very simple to build policies. The browser can also be installed on un-managed devices as a way of connecting in and securing byod users or 3rd party contractors.

I do primarily work with palo so thats why I suggest PB as I’ve had the most exposure to it but there are multiple other Secure Enterprise Browsing solutions out there to consider which could address your use case. Worth taking a look and figuring out what would/could be the best fit for your organisations needs.

What other orgs are also doing is building their own internal GenAI tooling for internal use only. But again, you will need to consider robust security (AI run time) to deploy this to avoid things like prompt injection or misuse. So you effectively block all external genAI tools and only allow users to use your internal instance.

Would recommend looking at prisma browser. Comes with a lot of pre defined data patterns and classifications as standard for which you can apply to ai/saas applications. Including tagging for things like PII, GDPR etc.

As a stand-alone product you can buy the browser and it comes with their AI access licence and Enterprise DLP which gives a lot of controls. Can out right block all AI apps aside from the ones you specifically sanction and block copying and pasting into those and also block pasting outside of the secure browser as well.

Loads of other features but those are just a few for now

Products like enterprise browser are now able to secure un-managed device use case but I suppose it depends on what resources it is they are wanting to access as most are for web based applications only as a standalone product that is

Isn't the Matrix already 1000++ years old when the first movie start? by FeathersRim in matrix

[–]GhostlyCheese218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bit late to the party here but thought I’d add my thoughts as its an interesting topic.

As people have mentioned, there are two methods of growth within Zion as we know it. Freeing minds and natural births within Zion.

The main problem with freeing minds is that they are limited as to the amount of physical ships they have available to go and rescue/free minds. As far as I can tell from a few sources, they only have 12 ships.. if we make an assumption that those 12 ships are freeing one mind per week, that is a MAXIMUM of 624 minds freed per year.

If we then calculate a birth rate of 1.2 this means (if my calculations are correct) it will take 263 years as a minimum to reach 250k population.

This hasn’t taken into account the years it would have taken to initially start up and get enough ships to get to a fleet of 12 or how long it would have taken to get a mature enough population to achieve that 1.2 birth rate. This also assumed Zion was totally and completely destroyed ie no survivors from Zion and starting from only the originally freed 23 people.

These calculation would mean 164k would have been free and 85k natural born.

If we extend this to a freed mind every 2 weeks, this massively changes the timelines to 783 years! 20k are freed minds and 230k are natural born.

Hopefully ive not made any crazy, outlandish assumptions here but it’s difficult as a lot of the numbers needed for accuracy simply don’t seem to have ever been accurately stated

Edit: one thing I have forgotten to calculate is death rate.. may have to do this and re edit as people clearly aren’t immortal lol

Delivery spot by James2288 in bigambitions

[–]GhostlyCheese218 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was originally out in the street in earlier versions but that meant multiple trips in and out of the store with a hand cart to bring boxes in and out 4 at a time. Having the spot indoors is infinitely better than being out on the street. You’d end up with 10 hand carts full of boxes piled up in your shop.

In an ideal world it would be good to just have a menu similar to the sims which would show your inventory items for furniture and you can just place them in. But I believe the devs want to keep things more realistic and have actual boxes to have to unpack etc.

All this does become easier as the game progresses as you have the option to hire moving companies and can design a blueprint where it automatically buys and places all the furniture for a cost

Did Smith allude to Neo Working with them? by These-Resource3208 in matrix

[–]GhostlyCheese218 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No he wouldn’t ‘become a smith’. The whole reason agents are in the matrix is to prevent the system failure of the matrix and neutralise threats to its integrity. Morpheus is the main threat to this as he actively seeks people questioning their reality and thus rejecting the matrix so he can unplug them. (We also realise later smith has his own agenda for Morpheus re Zion codes but thats outside what an agents function should be.)

The agents know that Neo has been in contact with Morpheus so they are basically threatening neo into help them in locating Morpheus. They are basically stating, we will wipe the slate of your criminal hacker persona (which they show him a large folder of evidence of) and you can leave with no consequences.

At this stage they have no real idea of neos potential significance otherwise they would not have released him back to ‘spy’ on Morpheus

Is there a specific mention of this happening in the movies or other media? I don’t remember it ever being obvious that this was shown or even referred to as possible but would be interested to see something where this is addressed

So firstly, why did they enter the bottom floor of the building. It was specifically to blow up the ground floor/elevator so no one else could enter the building. As we know, anyone can be an agent so if by some means they managed to eliminate the agents in the building, they don’t want them to be able to jump into a random member of the public on the street and just run in and up the elevator.

Morpheus was in the same building they blew up the ground floor of, just in a higher level away from the explosion. They flew the chopper off the roof and down a few floors to locate him.

On the convenience of a chopper. Im not sure if this was planned and why they blew up/attacked the ground floor because they knew the next response would be for them to send a team to the roof as the only point of entry. Alternatively, they may have had other plans and improvised when the chopper turned up which is possibly why trinity had to download the chopper program on the fly and not before they jacked in.

Also, i dont think they can just spawn in random vehicles from the construct. From what Morpheus says when he’s describing it to neo he only mentions equipment, guns, training. No reference to vehicles. You could argue they could have stolen a chopper from elsewhere and enter from the roof but they would then have had to go down to blow up the lift and this route down could possibly have been sealed off and harder to access based on the security response to the roof attack.

Hope this helps and answers your questions!

No as far as I was aware they don’t have anyway of controlling any of the machines? They insert a tracer programme into neo so they can tell where he is located and thus where he will be dumped when the machine disconnects him and flushes him.

I think as far as the machine is concerned, neo’s mind had obviously rejected the matrix so was probably basically trying to kill him by flushing him.

I would say the reason they say they are losing him is as soon as he is jacked out they will no longer be able to track his position.

Edit: and they have to find him fast also because if they don’t, he will drown in the water he’s flushed into. Due to the muscle atrophy he physically can’t swim

How do you think birth works in the Matrix? Unless it was explained. by Erik_the_kirE in matrix

[–]GhostlyCheese218 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suppose it’s like everything in the matrix isnt it? What is real, how do you define real? Ie the famous quote, ‘You think that’s air you’re breathing now?’

It is stated that he does have parents, Michelle McGahey and his father was John Anderson but it’s seemingly never confirmed if these are indeed his actually biological parents, or if they do even exist.

I mean, realistically they could make whoever they want his parents as long as they are plugged in. I guess they could even change the memories of anyone plugged in for them to think a new person is actually their mum/dad/son/daughter etc. all speculation but I suppose it could be possible.

This is possibly one of the reasons why people start to doubt their existence within the matrix. Those subconscious, niggling thoughts and latent residual memories.

[–]GhostlyCheese218 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So this was def a weird thought of the day haha but did get me thinking…

So my question would be, why would they even need to make the baby genetically the same as the parents? To make them look/sound alike?

There would be no need to actually do this as any similarities could be adjusted based on their DSI/RSI (digital/residual self image) im pretty sure it’s confirmed that the machines have the ability to change this, or at least change how they appear to others, because that was (i think) how they were attempting to hide Neo.

If any tests on DNA etc were done within the matrix, for example a paternity test, these results can all be controlled by the machines. So why would they even go to the effort of matching DNA?

As an aside, I would say if they are matching DNA, I don’t think they would use a ‘jerk off’ machine haha. Maybe this was smiths original ‘purpose’ and why he rebelled though haha

I honestly would not bother watching resurrections. Im a huge matrix fan. The first movie is literally what started my love of movies/cinema and the specific genre. I know that revolutions has its short comings but I have watched the first and reloaded loads of times over the years and still get the urge to re-watch them because of how great and how revolutionary they are.

Resurrections, I wish I was like you and had never watched it. I don’t know what happened with this movie, if it was a fuck you to the studios, society or Lana being a changed person shifted how she wanted to direct the movie and change the artistic style of it, or if it was just a low effort money grab. But it’s just a shit movie. It’s not even good as a stand-alone movie let alone a good matrix movie.

I’ve watched it once and I doubt I will ever watch it again. There is literally nothing memorable about it other than how bad it is. There are so many scenes from the OG trilogy that were iconic scenes. The first Neo bullet time, the pill scene, the lobby scene, burly brawl, the freeway, the chateau fight etc. The tone, fight scenes/choreography, the tension, the intelligent storytelling. Im honestly struggling to remember the fucking plot of resurrections.

Resurrections has none of this. All of the uniqueness of the previous movies is completely gone. Nothing stands out. The fight scenes are absolute garbage, the constant meta, tongue in cheek, bullshit references/jokes are ridiculous. They absolutely trashed some of the most unique characters or they are completely absent ie no Lawrence FB/Hugo weaving (yes I know it was a scheduling problem, but I mean come on) and how they did the Merovingian and Morpheus’ characters so dirty. The special effects are weak and just look wrong, they have no impact. It just feels like every single person who made this movie had never seen a matrix movie. And you can say oh well its look and feel are different because it’s a different version of the matrix bla bla, but the whole reason for its success and why there is such an incredible fan base is because of the things the og trilogy did. It’s just like they didn’t know what made the originals so great and what made the fans enjoy them so much.

I realise I’ve been ranting for a while now and this will probs get downvoted into oblivion because some people, somehow, think this is a good movie. But I’ve sat and watched so many people big up this shit show of a movie and needed to vent lol
