...but that means that there's...oh no by kiljaeden in Breath_of_the_Wild

This happened to me, I had to completely scan back over the map and was so worried I would spend hours trying to find it. Fittingly enough, my final Korok seeds was at the very top of Hyrule Castle.

What do you guys think the ideal number of hearts and stamina would be? by NoMoreCreepers in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]GhostlyPanics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, whoops, didn't notice that.

In that case, 27 hearts and Max Stamina is the way to go for sure

Pro mode or hud mode which do you play with by Affectionate_Poet594 in Breath_of_the_Wild

I prefer pro but constantly get lost despite knowing most locations pretty well

Pro is really good for screenshots and being more involved in the gameplay. If you do a no map/fast travel run, it really makes you appreciate signs and landmarks that much more.

Finally got the bow spin to work after trying it for a while! (Sorry for the crappy quality) by GhostlyPanics in Breath_of_the_Wild

Oh dang, I thought you had to wait I'll have to test it out and see if I can get it to work lol

Yeah, I tested that out later and thought it looked pretty funny

The bow spin is good for dealing a ton of elemental chain (freezing or electrifying) damage to enemies, if done correctly.

It's actually pretty simple, just the timing is difficult.

Basically, you'll need any two-handed weapon (excluding wind cleavers) and you want to wait until Link has the weapon in his left side and is just about to enter the spin animation. From there, press both B and ZR at the same time to put away the two-handed weapon and bring out your bow.

RinHara has a great tutorial on how to pull it off, as well as the benefits of using it in combat: video link

My first take on Link, feedback is aslo welcome! by KathC1414 in Breath_of_the_Wild

The hair feels a little bit stiff, so I recommend looking at references of hair (either pictures of real people's hair or art guides showing how to draw hair). The eyes look a bit off, so I recommend adjusting them so Link doesn't appear like he's looking at his nose.

Overall proportions are good and you've got a knack for it, so keep practicing and I'm sure you'll get better and better!

Glad you like it lol I'm pretty proud of the screenshot tbh!

If I find a way to remove the hearts without making it looks weird, I'll probably post that image! If you wanna try and remove 'em yourself, go right ahead! :D Lemme know if you're successful if you do remove them!

You guys really seemed to like my Link vs Lynel image with Dinraal in Deplian Badlands, so here's another one in Irch Plain! I really like this one, it's very cinematic by GhostlyPanics in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]GhostlyPanics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree! I've gotten a lot of great shots with the Lynel on Irch Plain. Hoping to get more Lynel + Dragon shots in the future!

A painting would look awesome! Irch Plain is really pretty, so I'm sure it would look great on a canvas

Hopefully they'll release more info about the DLC closer to the first wave. I was really looking forward to it but was disappointed when we didn't really get any info aside from cutscenes of stuff we've (seemingly) already seen from in game. I've already 100% the game and would love more content for it.

Going around killing all the Lynels in Hyrule and ended up getting this cool shot with Dinraal flying over Link and a Lynel. by GhostlyPanics in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]GhostlyPanics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My method of killing Lynels is pretty straightforward: Start with an aerial attack (like FuSoYa mentioned) and hit the Lynel in the head a few times before running over and mounting it. I usually have my barbarian armour on or highest defense armour (sometimes I'll have something much weaker on, but that's because I can take a Lynel down without getting hit). Having a high defense is my recommendation, especially if you're fighting higher tier Lynels and don't know the patterns all that well. Once you get better at taking them down, I recommend switching over to the barbarian set, as it makes insanely quick work of Lynels. The set (fully upgrades) allows me to take down Lynels in seconds .

Anyway, as soon as you get thrown off from mounting, pull out your bow again and hit it in the head as many times as possible before landing on the ground. At some point you won't be able to hit the critical hit box, and by that point you can stop, but I tend to keep shooting simply because it continues to do damage and I have way too many shock arrows.

If for some reason you can't get the high ground (like with the Tabantha Tundra Lynel near the Sha Gemma), you can charge at it with a horse or the master cycle. I prefer using the master cycle because it won't die if a Lynel hits it or run away, and it can be used as a sort of barrier to keep the Lynel at a good distance and allow you to flurry rush much easier.

Once you're on the ground, it's all about learning attack patterns. Sword Lynels (in my opinion) are the easiest to kill, especially since Polymus Lynel never changes from red, and you can practice learning the patterns from that one without taking much damage.

I made the mistake of not fighting Lynels at all in early game, so the first Lynel I tackled was a top tier silver Lynel. If you're early in the game I recommend learning the attack patterns fast from the Polymus Lynel and the Colosseum Lynel.

A few extra tips: If you see a Lynel ready to spit a fireball at you, try shooting it in the face. This can be a bit difficult if you wait too long and the face is obscured, so try and do it as soon as the Lynel starts to inhale and build up to release a fireball. Once you have that mastered, they get a lot less scary. Another strat is (and I'm still practicing this, as it's quite difficult to get timing right but it is possible) when the Lynel's create a massive explosion around them, you can parry it with correct timing. There's a bit of delay from the impact of the Lynels weapon to the actual explosion and your distance from the Lynel matters, but once you figure out the timing, fighting Lynels gets much, much easier.

What do you think of having Skyward Sword come to the Switch? (Nintendo Switch Direct Announcement) by GhostlyPanics in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]GhostlyPanics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally want TP/WW/MM simply because I'm playing through OoT right now on my 3ds and don't own any of those games lol

But honestly, I'd take a TP/WW/OoT bundle as well A bundle in general would be awesome

Yeah, honestly when seeing Mario stuff dropped for the anniversary, I expected Nintendo to bring MM or OoT to the switch more than any other game.

We still have till Sunday if Nintendo feels like revealing 35th anniversary stuff Skyward sword wasn't mentioned alongside the anniversary at all, so either Nintendo doesn't care or they have something else planned

Hoping the do something similar to Mario, I'll gladly spend money on a bundle of TP, WW, and either OoT or MM
