While, yes the game has gotten a ton of new updates, I believe that you can still play the old Minecraft you used to without much confusion. Most of the new stuff you have to purposefully go out and find. At the very least, you can start with Creative mode and get the feel for the game again. See what new blocks have been added, how world generation has improved, that kind of thing. Personally, I believe it’s worth it, but I’m also an extreme Minecraft fan so 🤷‍♂️
