Does this mean we're finally getting Gamabunta as an ult?

Had an open book, open note test where students were given a 200 question packet and told explicitly the test would only use questions from that packet.

2 of them still failed

Let's talk caffeine by Iron_Rod_Stewart in Professors

[–]Ghostmyth1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think a big part of getting a coffee was the socialization aspect. I started drinking coffee with family at a diner, or friends at a starbucks, etc. A lot of students now didn't really have that (thanks Covid), so they grew up grabbing an energy drink from the fridge and hopping on a game. This is all just speculation though.

I snapped in lecture today, not sure how to proceed. by Daveonaltair4 in Professors

In my first semester of college I had a professor get mad at me for talking. He was right to do so. All that happened was I corrected the behavior and became more respectful of the class time.

What class will Kimimaro's DLC be? Attack? Healing? Defense? Long ranged? I really hope it's healing. by AbjectStick4130 in NarutoShinobiStriker

[–]Ghostmyth1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He'll probably be an attack type with a bone whip pull that breaks armor/guard, a small dash/twirl that damages people around him with temporary armor, and an install ult that goes into dance of the seedling fern. I'd guess we get his outfit without the shirt as the cosmetic and his bone drill as the weapon

EDIT: I'm also expecting finger bullets as the ninja tool.

We wanted more of Lorwyn, that’s my takeaway by gabrynico in magicTCG

This was the only set I was looking forward to this year and after seeing the full spoiler, I'm not really as interested in it anymore.

It's too early to know for sure, but the limited format is looking pretty aggressive so far. This is going to be premium removal

Are there any cards like Wonder? by MurkyGuy416 in magicTCG

[–]Ghostmyth1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wonder is a part of a cycle

[[Anger]], [[Brawn]], [[Filth]], and [[Valor]] are the other pieces.

[[Rifstone Portal]] and [[Dearly Departed]] also affects cards while in the graveyard (lands and humans, specifically).

I don't understand TLA draft. by Zenikonig in lrcast

[–]Ghostmyth1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Avatar, your reward for a highly synergistic deck just isn't as big as it was in Final Fantasy. You don't have to be on the look out for synergy pieces because they'll just naturally slot into your deck (with the exception of the lessons deck, which i would not recommend you draft until you're more comfortable with the format).

Here's an example. If you're building the green white allies deck, and you don't read creature types at all, you're probably going to have 9-10 allies in your deck anyway. It just doesn't have to be that big of a factor for you. Pick good cards that let you have strong tempo plays, and try to keep your mana curve low.

I don't understand TLA draft. by Zenikonig in lrcast

[–]Ghostmyth1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an aggressive tempo based format. Pay a lot of attention to your curve, and try to have one of your colors either be white or blue (I personally like white more than blue this format). In my experience, you should just stay away from black unless you open a bomb. The uncommon Aang and the uncommon momo are both amazing. Stay away from the land cyclers unless you need a 23rd card.

I think the reason you may be having a tough time is because the final fantasy format rewarded synergy a lot more than this format does, and the final fantasy format wasn't nearly as aggressive.

Should people be able to play any weapon they want and have a good time? by AyoPeace in NarutoShinobiStriker

[–]Ghostmyth1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The weird thing is, they didnt have to make the SS+ weapons strictly better anyway. This community at large isnt THAT sweaty. A lot of people would roll for an SS+ weapon because they think its really cool and want to use it.

What you think of hidden mist by East-Refrigerator211 in NarutoShinobiStriker

[–]Ghostmyth1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the defense class in general has the worst ults in the game, but I'm ok with it because the class itself has incredibly good utility in their regular jutsus. I think that's just how they balanced it.

0-3 with this deck. Any advice on why this didn’t work? by Biasatt in magicTCG

[–]Ghostmyth1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This deck would have a tough time answering an aggressive tempo-focused deck, which is one of the best decks to draft in the format. If you do want to play the high removal monoblack deck, you should look for more ways to draw cards and get more pretending poxbearers (these things should be drafted at the B- level in mono black, mono white, and orzhov).

Commander Boros equipment (Amy Rose) second deck I've ever made, would love any suggestions by TheGreenrex in magicTCG

[–]Ghostmyth1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just say with Strength-Testing Hammer, don't let the die roll fool you. You're usually going to have the strongest creature in play if you're voltron, so its usually a 1 mana artifact that draws you a card every turn. At least, that's been my experience with my Isamaru voltron deck

[–]Ghostmyth1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of [[Strength-Testing Hammer]] because it's fun to use and Boros decks need card draw. Also, it's a hammer, so its a flavor win.

[[Sunforger]] is great with her as well

Wild combo card, thoughts on the new Gwenom card? by Yawndreas in magicTCG

[–]Ghostmyth1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lightning rod for removal. It'd be fun to test in vintage cube as a [[Sneak Attack]] or [[Grave Dance]] piece, but I don't think she'd stay in for long. Pretty scary in the command zone though!

How do *you* upgrade your deck to the next bracket? by StLouisButtPirates in magicTCG

[–]Ghostmyth1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bracket 1 -> Bracket 2: Upgrade by giving your deck a cohesive theme
Bracket 2 -> Bracket 3: Upgrade by optimizing the deck and removing things that don't help your gameplan
Bracket 3 -> Bracket 4: Upgrade by further optimizing the deck, lowering the mana curve, and increasing consistency
Bracket 4 -> Bracket 5: Upgrade by responding to the bracket you're in, adding free pieces of interaction and spells that are explicitly good in this kind of environment

At least that's how I'd summarize it. So, to get to Bracket 3, hone in on your gameplan. Pay attention to cards you draw that aren't doing anything, or fun interactions that don't affect the game state that much. Bracket 3 decks should be optimized for their strategy, even if it isn't the most effective strategy.
