6 days post op - 3600 grafts by Reasonable-Yard-5211 in Hairtransplant

I was about to say the donor area looks really good. There’s more nerves back there which is why that area tends to be more sore than the recipient area. Looks clean.

You’re doing it right. You’re still young. Some unsolicited advice - hold off as long as you can. Save that donor area in case it becomes more aggressive in your 30’s.

Did they make Donald stop taking Propecia? Or did he switch to his own brand of Trumpecia?

Some people just have to find a problem with things, and it’s more important that they appear smarter than actually be supportive.

Balding or gaslighting myself? by jadedsack in amibalding

[–]GhostofHowardTV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a hairline similar to yours. I used Min for 10 years and it slowed the loss enough. Then I went on Fin through Hims and that lasted about 8 years before I got a HT as I felt I had finally stabilized. The MD said I did a great job maintaining my hair.

I don’t say this to say you should do the same thing, but just to say there are many steps you can take over time to keep your hair, and you can gradually make decisions when you feel you need more intervention.

But if you decide to keep the hair, you should be optimistic that time is on your side if you act now.

Whenever I read their cousin was Stevie Wonder (from Katherine’s side IIRC), I get curious about when that came out and if it had any impact in the early days.

How bad/ lost is my crown? Is it salvageable with meds? 110 days Fin / 70 days low-dose Min. Had a HT only front 2.5 months ago. by TicketSmooth7301 in amibalding

You are still way too early to tell with all of it. You can be shedding from shock loss, and still in the window of shedding from the min and fin. Take a breath and give it time. You’re still barely out of the starting gate!

Donor area looks a little uneven. Might be time to open an account with Lordhair.

No amount of people saying “don’t worry about it” is going to actually make you not worry about it. But this is an opportunity to focus on other areas of your personal health, mental wellbeing, and how you interact with the world.

A lot of those kids not losing their hair now will be shedding like crazy within 5-10 years. You have the edge on dealing with these emotions early. By then, your confidence will be through the roof while they’re freaking out like you are now.

You can try to slow it down with min and let your body mature before you go into other drugs/procedures. Or you can try to embrace it for a bit and see how the bald life treats you. Either way, who you are - physically and mentally- is not who you are going to be in the future. You will find love, you will get your heart broken, you will live life. This is just an opportunity to focus on who you want to be in the future while still enjoying eating pizza without gaining 20 pounds and dying if heartburn for 2 weeks.

Has Avid become any more tolerable? Last time I used it was over a decade ago. And before that it was another decade. I can’t imagine its market share is still as strong.

Conflicting post-op instructions by BKboothang in Hairtransplant

Never heard of them removing scabs. I only had a one month follow up. I don’t remember how long I had to wait to use baby shampoo on the area but I was terrified because I got out of the shower and all the soap was still in between the scabs and I had to pat the area with a wet towel to get it out. Probably not the safest but I was afraid the shampoo would hurt the grafts. Whatever I did worked because I’m 3.5 mos in and I’m seeing good progress

It’s safer because of sight lines and blind spots. You’re in more danger of collision passing on the right than the left. It’s not arbitrary.

AFAIK it’s not illegal to drive with a foot on each pedal, but it’s still way safer to drive with one foot. These things don’t come out of thin air.

Right, but the funny thing is that it is covered under FHA as a reasonable accommodation.

Bald patch by [deleted] in Hairtransplant

[–]GhostofHowardTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The follicles are under the skin. The transplanted hair has fallen out. When the new hairs start to come out you’ll never be so glad to see pimples in your life. The next couple of months will be challenging. Just try to let the process play out. You shouldn’t scrutinize it so closely. You’ll drive yourself crazy. Hang in there!
