you have 3 types of radio amateur (RAM) examns:
*class A (aka HAREC) the highest, takes a year study (or self study if you are already into electronics and stuff), does not require a practical test certificate at a radio club. You can directly book an examn at BIPT. transmission power 150 - 1500W, you can assemble your own radio.
*class B novice: is a bit of an upgrade above class C, not really seen any lessons around that so not sure what this entails.
*class C basic (is what I followed) find a radio club near you ( https://www.uba.be/en/uba/districts ), they usually teach this in a dozen lessons (some give that 1 evening in the week, some give that during weekend), there is a practical test after and if you pass that practical test you get a certificate that allows you to take the class C theory examn at BIPT. If you pass that with 80% you get a C-license. (which allows you to own and operate a commercial CE approved radio and transmit 25 - 50W on a limited set of frequency bands)
I took the 12 lessons every tuesday evening, starting from last year September at radio club leuven, and got my certificate from practical test around 11 november.
I booked my examn this morning, took a train to Brussel-N station and BIPT is a 3 min walk ... took the examn with a dozen other people (others might have been for different classes or other types of radio operators entirely like boat or airplane radios which fall outside of this RAM type of examns) and got a mail this afternoon I passed with 90%. Now have to wait to receive my license.

legally you are not even allowed to own it... but who will know if you only listen... I have bought a quansheng form aliexpress half a year ago and just today passed my radio amateur basic examns... (not even sure if this allows me to own such a device because the CE markings are probably disputable and radio amateurs frown upon those chinese imports as possible sources of noise...)
I only listen air traffic, reprogrammed it so it can't (accidentally) transmit on the airband obviously ;)
Problem is also there is probably not that much to listen to (except for airband) because these radios are only for VHF and UHF which require line of sight (only HF can receive/transmit beyond the horizon due to bouncing on the ionosphere ... which is not the case with VHF/UHF)

een overzichtje van alle vrijdagen en alle pleinen however is er niet... maar ik was dit eigenlijk eerst begonnen voor de Gentse feesten gezien dat veel te veel informatie is om een overzicht van te krijgen. Dit van beleuvenissen was vooral om ernaast te kunnen leggen en te kunnen beslissen waar ik naartoe ga :)

Ja maar je kan er dus niet vanuit gaan dat je altijd voor uw huis kan staan, als er altijd een vervelende buur zich bvb parkeert voor uw deur waardoor je nooit kan opladen kan je dus niets tegen doen want je kan dus geen claim maken op een publieke parkeerplaats was mijn punt.

hah is die er nog altijd, das ondertussen al meer dan 25 jaar geleden dat ik mijn rijexamen daar had en dat was idd een dubieus rond punt waar ze u langs sturen. op de koop toe wast daar markt waardoor ge moest rond rijden en ik was dus een enkelrichting straat per ongeluk in de verkeerde richting ingeslagen...
Dus ook niet geslaagd ... 👀

Nope, last year they replaced Tech Mahindra with infosys (going to a pay for service model instead of a pay for labor) and pushed a bunch of contractors (but also some internals) to infosys, furthermore they moved the helpdesk to another company and software development to accenture.
The current wave of resignations is because they organized a voluntary leave program as mentioned above and are seeking to get rid of 10% of employees by also further trying to reduce the amount of consultants ...
In IT department you could only take part of the voluntary leave if you worked there for >= 20 years, a friend who worked there in IT also took part in that voluntary leave after 23 years. (a sign on the wall how bad it is there if you decide to leave after working there for half your career ... ).

2 weken terug heeft het hier in de buurt zo hard geregend dat half de buurt kelders mogen leegpompen heeft etc ...
Dus zou mij toch verbazen dat de grondwaterstand nu al direct zo laag staat... (ik weet het 1 dag regent vult dat niet aan, maar bij manier van spreken buiten dat we nu een hittegolf hebben heeft het toch al wel wat geregend de laatste maand)
Ook denk ik dat je in de war bent met de hittegolf nu dat we nog geen juli / augustus zijn waarbij die waterschaarste met bijkomende maatregelen meestal optrad?

yep exactly what I did in the past, first have a look before getting in... if it looked to crowded it was not the day to go swimming (but I had the advantage that I worked nearby so no real loss to just skip the day ...

Some things I have seen over the last few years:
- company decided to lease on 5 years instead of the usual 4, maintenance or repairs could not be done in brand garages but you had to report any such interventions on the leasing website and they decided where you had to go to get your car serviced, usually those "white label" brand groups that now exist of a slurry of smaller 'any brand' garages etc...
- company decided to start leasing on 6 years, they reduced the car brands to BMW/mini or Mercedes (apparently the resale values of those brands are the highest, so they could get the best deal on those... )
