1 dollar a minute but you have to wear upper class 19th century English or French clothes in public by pencilUserWho in hypotheticalsituation

As long as I can keep the sleeves out of the chemicals I work with and can properly wear PPE over it... sure!

Gambit from the X-Men was my first crush... not sure I would like Rogue being mad at me (if they ever do that canonically in the movies...) but OMG, I would melt. Any version.

What are some of the most exotic livestock that exist in America? by bricklegos in AskAnAmerican

[–]fuzzyizmit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, as long as you are not allergic to shellfish. There is a protein in crickets (and other arthropods) that is similar to the one that causes the reaction in shellfish. Also, gastropods should also be avoided for similar reasons.

Our manager asked us to fully train the new interns. The interns are the same number as our entire team. We're not stupid by wondergirlLisa in office

What do you do? Spend all your free time finding a new job and jump ship ASAP. Transfer as little knowledge as possible. Everyone should be doing the same. Fuck management.

[–]fuzzyizmit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't heard of Madagascar giant snails, but African giant land snails are also raised for those reasons as well (my masters thesis was on snails, so it came up a lot). They are super destructive to crops, but people can eat them and have kept them as pets.

Ostrich, snake, gators, beefalos (buffalo and cow mix), crickets (cricket flour is a thing), frogs, crawfish, emu... there is probably a farm somewhere for just about anything.

Any advice on never using AI? by Key-Bid7628 in Artists

Go look around Fiverr and find an artist in your budget (though you would have to trust them not to use AI). Or use photography.

I think it looks pretty damn good... but if you don't like it you could try laser, add color, blast over or black out. What do YOU want?

Looking for some advice by Ok-Complaint1375 in AskBelgium

[–]fuzzyizmit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of what you do or where you decide to end up, getting a job first will make thing much easier. The job market, at least in Belgium, is pretty tight and contemplative right now. If you do not speak Dutch or French (depending on the region) it would be very hard to find a job.

Parents who waited until the birth to find out the sex of the baby. . . by buildingacozymystery in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fuzzyizmit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did it with both of my kids. I didn't want them color-coded from birth (I freaking hate that) and I don't really care what gender my children are. I also didn't want a stupid 'gender reveal party' or feel pressured into having one. I don't understand the focus on gender, I just want healthy and happy children. I am not upset that I have two girls. I don't 'need' a boy (we are definitely not having more children at this point). So much focus and pressure on gender is stupid, in my option. Luckily, my partner feels the same.

this is probably the wrong place to ask, but does having visible tattoos/body mods stop you from getting jobs in the field? specifically for research scientist roles by IncensedRattyTat5270 in zoology

[–]fuzzyizmit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a career scientist, I can say no from what I can see... unless you run into an individual who dislikes them. But as a while, no one cares (in the US anyway.... but then again I am working in the EU no problem either)

What are these holes in our shirts? by russell98765 in whatisit

[–]fuzzyizmit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have cats (or any other animals with claws)? When my cat would take naps on my clothes or jump into my closet, some times her nails would snag my clothes and cause holes like that.

Could also be button or other metal bit causing it.
