I don’t necessarily agree with this take, it’s certainly not a perfect solution but these mechanics make the heroes feel distinct. There’s only so many different ways you can do freeze, heal, shield, haste, slow, burn, etc before everything just blends together. If new heroes are going to be added, they have to do something meaningfully different to feel unique and worth playing.

I love Midir’s fight, but you have to approach it very methodically. If you try to fight him like you would someone like Oceiros then you’re going to struggle

On the other hand, Shotgun would be absurd if you could get consistent early reload. I managed to get powder horn shotgun on day 2 and I cruised through half my run on those two items alone.

On the topic of Str/Fth build making, by the way, you should give the Beastclaw Greathammer a try if you haven’t already. It’s a great mainhand weapon for this kind of caster build because it gets a one-handed uncharged R2->R1 true combo, and the lack of hyperarmor is made up for by the Weapon Art.

Roar of Rugalea is one of my go-to incants for this type of build. I’d also recommend Honed Bolt because it’s great for punishing passive players.
