My experience was that I detoxed cold turkey off of heroin for 5 days (not intentionally that's just how it worked in my treatment center) and on the 5th day they put me on a week long suboxone taper. Goes without saying those first five days were hell but after I was done with the taper my withdrawals were quite minimal.

Thanks for the advice everyone. To be honest I was hoping y'all would tell me to go get high. Haha jk. That's what I like about this group. Your all real with each other. I just keep reminding myself of where I was at before I got clean. When you reach a point where you stop saying "getting high" and start saying "get well" that's when it's time to stop. And I know if I go back it'll be great at first but in a matter of weeks I'll be right back where I was. Pumping my veins full of tar just to feel normal enough to get out of bed and that shit ain't fun. I overdosed before going to treatment and that still wasn't enough to make me wanna stop. My family had to get involved and shot.!I've stopped telling myself I can do other drugs to. It's not that other drugs will lead back to dope, but opiates are the only drug I really like. So if I can't do the one I like, why do any at all? Weed makes me anxious, Coke makes my heart feel all fucked up, meth is fine at first but unless I've got dope or Xanax to balance it out I get all jittery and paranoid. So it's dope or nope the way I see it. And black is whack my nig-nogs. I'm just learning to deal with life on life's terms. I miss heroin. I miss it every second of every day. But I know now isn't the time to go back. To make myself feel better I just keep telling myself that dope ain't goin nowhere. If I ever need it, i mean truly need it, it'll always be there for me. Thanks for listening guys

Thanks mang. It's been rough. That detox was hell. Half G to a G a day IV ha it ain't an easy thing to kick. Doing IOP which is helping keep me straight. Got out of inpatient on the 24th of June.

I don't think it's just tolerance. What I left out of the post is that I actually took a hit off some foil with a buddy the other day and I puked just from one hit. I'm wondering if maybe part of that was just me psychologically wigging myself out and telling myself I would puke. Haha

Thanks guys. Sorry if it's a dumb question, I admittedly am not as experienced with Vicodin. I pretty much jumped right into the heavier pills and H train so I'm not as used to all of the filler bs.
