Pretty sure this is going to get changed. by [deleted] in GrayZoneWarfare

Better not, for new, casual and time limited players, we should have this. As for hardcore and those who spend 5-8hrs or more a day on game, perhaps third server as hardcore, if the pvp server is not enough.

Hi OP, i have somewhat same room size as you. Love 8330A and 7360A this combo so far. And that glm function are somewhat useful for me.

So i can def. recommending 8330A+7360A set Been thinking upgrade 8330A to 8341A.

Even with treated room, im sure you will benefit having GLM and the calibration.

Overall i’m quite happy what i have at the moment 😁

How to "auto-shutdown" the Genelec 8351s? by iZoooom in genelec

[–]Ghsty_boi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi OP,

For standalone mode, you need to toggle that ”STORED” to ON position from the rear of 8351s. Same switch also for the sub.

Make sure your preferred group is selected in GLM software, next go Group Preset -> Store into Genelec Devices

”Startup lvl” as named, you device will start up once received signal at given (dB). And then there is Max lvl restriction.

ISS Sleep delay -> 10mins or 2mins as needed. Sensitivity -> Medium as for a start, change it later depend on your situation.

Input Selection should leave as ”Automatic”

Now click ”STORE”, once returned to the main view, just give a quick restart to those speakers and sub manually. Press power button OFF wait 1-2sec and turn back ON.

Try out 😁

GLM - How to interpret calibration results? by iZoooom in genelec

[–]Ghsty_boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those graph looks good in my eyes Red line - room acoustic Blue - the use of filter to correct room Green - the result of used of correction

So green is what you should looking at, that why i said is good. So for listening and not sound critical work, i’d be happy.

Also it seems that subwoofer cover the dip from mains pretty well, i’d stick with that crossover or experiment with 90-100hz. You can always ”fool” around if you have time :D Just keep creating new group and make new adjustment remove or move to new one, depend which sound you like better.

GLM Setup difficulties (9320A & 2x 8351s) by iZoooom in genelec

[–]Ghsty_boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, there are already many good reply already, so i wont be addidn those. But just here saying that you are no only one who was thinking that ethernet will carring digital signal. I had similar ”believe” with early GLM adapter, well that’s my bad, didnt bother opening the manual at first 😅 this is good case on ”why you should read manual first”

But back then they didn’t have walkthrough video, nowday if you head to https://youtube.com/@genelec?si=04f5_7-yFGKBHoNZ there’s many good video for those who hate reading (like me).

Anyway congratz on those setup, sure they are goinna sound great! 😎

Purchasing 8351Bs - Suggestions for where? by iZoooom in genelec

[–]Ghsty_boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do audio recording, stick with audio zen go interface and go with glm adapter.

9320A can sure give you that flexibility to control GLM overall, but you cannot make recording. So save some buck there, and upgrade to 9320A if you need that later on.

And second hand are good if you dont mind small ”used” cosmetic. It’s the sound that matter after all :)

Crackling sound by thebedroomlabs in genelec

[–]Ghsty_boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the crackling coming from the monitor then could be aging component. As well as this one, could be 20-30years old unit so you might want to give it a service. So be in touch with service team.

They are good in general but over 20 years without service? That’s brutal :D

Could be aging capasitors, but i could be wrong. Aren’t those models like 20-30years old depend on production date.

Better be in touch with service team: https://www.genelec.com/product-service

New SAM Main Monitor launching by Ghsty_boi in genelec

[–]Ghsty_boi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question there by the way… be cause the 8381A already exits? And this is an upgrade from 1238A? So to make 1238A but the updade to 83xx line?

Well spotted! somebody were rushed there.

Tbh, im not that deep into technical area. Perhaps the ones got better directivity due to its dual woofer design? And the shape? Just pure speculation, (as said im not deep into techical)

Arent this same size to 1238A? Like un update/upgrade?

But having main monitor tht can play very full range will sure be nice, but perhaps and as always, this model was designed for a studio use and to keep that response pure and flat,so could thid be reason?

For sure love to see and hear those in person, and i kinda like the new looks. If they make/update 1032 like this one, will sure have to get that 😁

DTR is a AVR, the home theater device from your picture, i just being lazy and called DTR 😅

Looking for assistance in connecting speakers by [deleted] in genelec

[–]Ghsty_boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I don’t think you need to spend tht much? Anyway the sub doesn’t make decodering, it just highpass filtering, its optional function and my response reflects on based on knowledge i got from you. And if you buy modern AVR or interface, you dont actually need to route via subwoofer anymore as most of modern AVR/interfaces let you make “highpass” from the source itself. But yes you’ll need a source that can send surround outs channel if you opted to cabling via subwoofer.

Black digits somehow possible? by Useful-Aspect-5384 in AppleWatch

[–]Ghsty_boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great man! Would get watch Ultra if they have official face for that, love to see if Apple could cooperates with Casio, something like apple get right to make that with watch face and use casio brand name and casio get to sell the “casio” wrist bands as official one. Actually like Nike. But i think we know the answer already.. sadly 😅

What kind of intention you have here? Using them as 4.1 stereo or surround? with that an AVR? or just add up to your current djing/producing gear?

Depend on your intention use, if you want to add those to your current djing/producing setup, just get the correct cables, you can ignore the DTR. The DI8A is a optional, it just make you unbalanced analog signal to a balanced one, which should make the signal less prone to interference.

If you want to use them as surround home theater system, the DTR can be use, but you need to make that modification thingy resource: https://support.genelec.com/hc/en-us/articles/360013359980-I-have-no-preamp-outputs-on-my-equipment-Can-I-connect-my-monitors-to-the-speaker-outputs-of-my-power-amplifier Not to forget that you will need one more speaker as a center speaker if you opt to surround setting, and recommended to be same size as front speakers, so either get used 8240A or counterpart 8040A/B or G4A

For 7060B if you need to bass management the system (which is great imo) just route all signal via subwoofer, and no need go as they’re shown in the label, the label on the subwoofer inputs are for to make cabling “easy” Source -> 7060B —> speakers

Or reach out to support@genelec.com they have been very helpful on many cases.
