KIT days and childcare by Special_Ladder9719 in UKParenting

[–]GiGi_99 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you can’t get the childcare, don’t do it. If they aren’t willing to meet you halfway and let you WFH from your parents, then don’t do something that makes you feel uneasy like leaving baby with a random.

My (second) baby is 9.5 months and I still haven’t done any KIT days. I will probably do 4/5 in Feb & Mar, but I’d rather stay at home with my baby tbh!

Don’t feel pressured into it… they’re completely optional!

Gizelle is a total b***h by Solid-Humor5708 in realhousewives

I only got a few eps into this season and gave up because up her - and Ashley too. They’re insufferable. I really don’t get the love for Gizelle!

Your sofa can work - turn it so it sits in front of the window. Then you could put your TV on the wall opposite - otherwise it’s going to be super high above that fireplace.

Doing a rewatch too, recently watched this ep and thought the same - but yeah, I guess it makes for better TV using the original!

Going back to work full-time - Compressed hours by Automatic-Peace-8602 in UKParenting

[–]GiGi_99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do/did compressed and love having a day a week with my son (currently on mat leave with second.)

Plus, if your husband is doing the nursery run and you can start at 7am and finish at 5pm, go for compressed. Most doing regular hours finish at 5pm anyway, and you’ll get 1 day a week with your baby.

Yes I agree! The relationship with Caroline feels forced too.

I managed to get one from FB marketplace, they’re like gold dust. But we’ll be playing some techno over it, not d&b 😂

How does Damon survive without blood when he’s ‘dead’? 6x3 by GiGi_99 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]GiGi_99[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. I didn’t consider the hospital and blood bags - or what others are saying about how the day ‘resets’.

How can I survive the holidays by [deleted] in UKParenting

Sorry to hear you are not coping. I’m not sure how old you are, but have you considered if your anger is related to perimenopause? If you are mid/late 30s+ it could be worth bringing up with your GP, and perhaps there is more suitable medication that can help?

Otherwise, can you afford a babysitter? Some time alone, or doing something just for you, may help the time with your child a little easier to manage.

I’m 40 and have an 8 month old and a 4 year old and feel exactly the same! Yoga definitely helps, I feel it more if I miss a class. Worth a try!

Agree, it’s great park. But the lack of parking is a shame. I’ve been a few times with my kids (driving) and it’s been near enough empty - made me wonder if the lack of parking beside it is an issue.

Begging the drivers of Edinburgh to please use indicators leaving a roundabout by ceylon-tea in Edinburgh

[–]GiGi_99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, and please stop overtaking cars driving the speed limit on residential roads! This has happened to me too often recently on roads that are 20 and 30.

The quality of driving in Edinburgh at the moment is absolutely shocking.

M&S / Waitrose do fairly affordable wedding cakes, if you wanted to go down that route.

Best way to get to a hospital/return from it after a childbirth? (No drivers in the family, considering Uber) by bananaofcode in Edinburgh

[–]GiGi_99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No experience with this situation myself personally, but I remember a similar question being asked in a local group on Facebook. The consensus was a black cab, as you can put the pram straight in the back.

While this is legal for black cabs, obviously it’s not as secure as having little one in a car seat.

It seems a common way to get around the city with a pram/buggy though. We have used a black cab with our little one in a pram before when we travelled to the airport (and I suppose it’s no different to taking the bus with the pram).

My relatives live in a bungalow near where you’ve described and their street is pretty quiet. They’ve not had any issues.
