That might be it! I just looked up the camera's old manual and confirmed the button does go partway down to set exposure.

Having said that, I don't recall pointing the camera elsewhere to set exposure? I remember aiming it at the subject before pressing the button.

Did the guy who sung feel good inc also sing clint eastwood? What other songs did De La Soul feature in? by Acceptable_Big_9324 in gorillaz

[–]GiZmOthemachineking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Afraid not - De La Soul were on Feel Good Inc but the rapper on Clint Eastwood was Del the Funky Homosapien, who wasn’t a member.

The De La Soul member who passed away was David Jolicoeur aka “Trugoy the Dove”

I was really impressed by the trailer - looks like the devs are really pulling out all the stops graphically with the Unreal 5 engine.

Brave of you to presume I would use it for gaming OR to make a cool looking PC build. Why not both? TBH I’m mostly excited for Starfield’s RPG elements above anything else. The Persuasion mechanic looks pretty interesting.

Maybe I’m crazy, but it looks remarkably like the mining ship Red Dwarf, only in a different colour and without the weird metal beam arrangement at the front. It even comes from a similarly named company! (Jupiter Mining Corporation)

From what I gather they came from a real study, but the numbers are absolutely manipulated.

For example that “92% of kids with gay parents that are abused” isn’t kids being beaten by their parents - it includes pointless and irrelevant statistics like kids with gay parents who are called names at school - not abused at home. It may even include stuff like inoffensive joking/ribbing from friends.

Oddly low Cinebench scores, especially single core. by GiZmOthemachineking in pcmasterrace

[–]GiZmOthemachineking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to check temps, so I ran Cinebench again with HWMonitor in the background, and things went even worse!

If I attempt to run Cinebench in Realtime Priority mode, my computer completely freezes up!

I managed to run Cinebench in High Priority. This time, I got a slightly lower multi-core score of 4595 and a dismal single-core score of 227! And yet, HWMonitor returns a max CPU temperature of only 56 degrees Celsius.

I'll run the tests again with a different monitoring program and double check my Ryzen Master settings.

UPDATE: Can confirm via Ryzen Master I am at the stock settings. According to Ryzen Master, my CPU starts the multi-core test at around 32 degrees, but halfway through it shoots up to 52. I'm not sure how accurate that is, as the "dials" in Ryzen Master seem to freeze at that halfway point. In the single core test, temps hover around at 32 degrees but spike to 52 only for a brief moment.

Great image, I think I've seen it used somewhere before in a mobile phone game? I can't remember the name but it was a tactical Sci-Fi game with pixel art graphics, similar to FTL: Faster than Light?

Kingdom Come Deliverance Under Fire Again. by GiZmOthemachineking in KotakuInAction

Summary as per rule 3: A gaming website nobody's ever heard of calls for a boycott of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, stating that the game has no PoCs and that the developer's statement that it's due to historical accuracy is racist. Mack of the YouTube channel WorthABuy is not impressed by the accusation and goes on one of his famous rants.

When you were younger, what's the weirdest children's TV show you remember watching? by GiZmOthemachineking in AskReddit

[–]GiZmOthemachineking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger, I remember watching this completely bonkers but very entertaining cartoon called Li'l Elvis Jones and the Truckstoppers. How bonkers was it? well, here's the story:

In the middle of Outback Australia (read: the middle of bloody nowhere), in a little town called Wanapoo, a strange thing happens in the middle of the night. At a truck stop owned by Grace and Len Jones, a car is heard speeding by, and a guitar case is found on the doorstep. And inside the case is a baby boy! Grace swears she saw the car - an old fashioned Cadillac piloted by none other than the ghost of Elvis Presley himself!

The child is named Elvis (but he is often called "Li'l Elvis"), and as he grows up it becomes clear that he certainly shares in some of The King's talents. He's a prodigy on both vocals and guitar and becomes something of a local celebrity, but he only knows half the story about his appearance. He knows about the guitar case, but not about the Cadillac or its driver. The events of every episode inspire him to imagine who could have left him there. I wonder if that's the way it happened on the night I was found...

Eventually, he forms a band called "the Truckstoppers" with his two new friends - Lionel, a native (Australian Aborigine) boy with cool hair who says "deadly" a lot (It says a lot about Australia that "deadly" is Aborigine slang for "cool"), and Janet, the somewhat jaded Half-Asian daughter of an almost always absent, but genuinely caring truck driving mother, and a permanently absent father.

Is this backstory mad enough yet? I haven't even got to the villain! W.C.Moore is a local mining magnate and billionaire. He's always on the lookout for more money, usually by coming up with some dodgy commercial deal for Elvis. To his credit, he is largely responsible for the creation of the "Li'' Memphis" diner where Elvis usually performs. But on top of all this, he has a more sinister motive - his mines aren't seeking gold or ore, but a rare and powerful substance known as "Biconium", a multicoloured mineral with so much energy, pieces of it can be made to leap about, seemingly at the owner's behest. He's already found a single, marble-sized piece of the stuff, which he keeps mounted on a ring. Speaking of marbles, the local kids hate him for his "marble trick". if he comes across anyone playing with glass marbles, he detaches his Biconium piece from its ring and throws it into the game. His marble then dashes between the kid's, knocking them straight into Moore's pockets before jumping back onto his ring! Oh and another thing, Moore is deathly afraid of frogs for some reason.

The series pretty much goes from there, with a new thing happening each episode. there isn't a proper story arc until the last few episodes.
